TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report chronic SARS-CoV-2 with reduced sensitivity to neutralizing antibodies in an immune suppressed individual treated with convalescent plasma, generating whole genome ultradeep sequences over 23 time points spanning 101 days.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spondylodiscitis: update on diagnosis and management
TL;DR: No randomized trials on treatment and studies were too heterogeneous to allow comparison are found, and Randomized trials are needed to assess optimal treatment duration, route of administration, and the role of combination therapy and newer agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid implementation of SARS-CoV-2 sequencing to investigate cases of health-care associated COVID-19: a prospective genomic surveillance study.
Luke W. Meredith,William L Hamilton,Ben Warne,Charlotte J. Houldcroft,Myra Hosmillo,Aminu S Jahun,Martin D. Curran,Surendra Parmar,Laura G Caller,Laura G Caller,Sarah L Caddy,Fahad A Khokhar,Anna Yakovleva,Grant Hall,Theresa Feltwell,Sally Forrest,Sushmita Sridhar,Sushmita Sridhar,Michael P. Estée Török,Ian Goodfellow +31 more
TL;DR: Real-time genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in a UK hospital was established and showed the benefit of combined genomic and epidemiological analysis for the investigation of health-care associated COVID-19 cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid Bacterial Whole-Genome Sequencing to Enhance Diagnostic and Public Health Microbiology
Sandra Reuter,Matthew J. Ellington,Edward J. P. Cartwright,Claudio U. Köser,M. Estée Török,M. Estée Török,Theodore Gouliouris,Theodore Gouliouris,Simon R. Harris,Nicholas M. Brown,Matthew T. G. Holden,Michael A. Quail,Julian Parkhill,Geoffrey Paul Smith,Stephen D. Bentley,Stephen D. Bentley,Sharon J. Peacock +16 more
TL;DR: The speed, accuracy, and depth of information provided by WGS platforms to confirm or refute outbreaks in hospitals and the community, and to accurately define transmission of multidrug-resistant and other organisms, represents an important advance.
Posted ContentDOI
Neutralising antibodies in Spike mediated SARS-CoV-2 adaptation.

TL;DR: These data reveal strong positive selection on SARS-CoV-2 during convalescent plasma therapy and identify the combination of Spike mutations D796H and deltaH69/deltaV70 as a broad antibody resistance mechanism against commonly occurring antibody responses to Sars-Cov-2.
