Proceedings ArticleDOI

Colloidal PbS nanocrystals integrated to Si-based photonics for applications at telecom wavelengths

TL;DR: In this paper, the integration of PbS nanocrystals into Si-based photonic structures like slot waveguides and ring resonators as optically pumped emitters for room temperature applications is demonstrated.
Book ChapterDOI

Sensing infrared light with an organic/inorganic hetero-junction

TL;DR: In this paper, an organic/inorganic hetero-junction was proposed for sensing infrared light, where the used materials are highly boron doped crystalline silicon (100) and a soluble buckminster fullerene derivative.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective tuning of optical modes in a silicon comb-like photonic crystal cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, a comb-like spectrum of up to 8 modes with very high quality factor and diffraction limited volumes can be engineered in the bichromatic-type potential of a two-dimensional photonic crystal cavity fabricated in a thin silicon membrane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bandstructure and photoluminescence of SiGe islands with controlled Ge concentration

TL;DR: Good agreement between calculated and measured PL emission wavelength was achieved, indicating that by combining PL and X-ray experiments, an accurate determination of the Ge concentration and a quantitative modeling of the bandstructure of the SiGe islands is possible.
