Journal ArticleDOI

Natural Convection in the Annulus Between Horizontal Circular Cylinders With Three Axial Spacers

TL;DR: In this paper, a thin-fin approximation was used to model the thermal boundary condition of the spacers in two-dimensional finite difference numerical computations, and two diameter ratios were tested experimentally in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer using air at atmospheric pressure with stainless steel spacers between copper cylinders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combining brine or CO2 geothermal preheating with low-temperature waste heat: A higher-efficiency hybrid geothermal power system

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors test both a direct CO2 hybrid geothermal system and an indirect brine-hybrid system and find that both can generate 20 % more electric power than the summed power of individual geothermal and auxiliary systems in some cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Hybrid Geothermal Energy Conversion Technology - A Potential Solution for Production of Electricity from Shallow Geothermal Resources

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented an alternative unconventional geothermal energy utilization approach that uses shallower, lower-temperature, naturally permeable regions, that drastically reduce drilling costs and induced seismicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat transfer—a review of 1983 literature

TL;DR: Synthese des travaux publies et bibliographie mondiale sur le transfert de chaleur pour l'annee 1983 as discussed by the authors.
