Simultaneous stable isotope analysis of methane and nitrous oxide on ice core samples

TL;DR: In this paper, a dry extraction system for combined CH4 and N2O stable isotope analysis from ice core air, using an ice grating device, is presented, which allows simultaneous anal- ysis of D(CH4) or 13 C (CH4), together with 15 N(N2O), 18 O(N 2O), and 15 N (NO + fragment) on a single ice core sample, using two isotope mass spectrometry systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of diffusive isotopic fractionation in polar firn, and application to ice core trace gas records

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-empirical method was proposed to estimate the magnitude of diffusive fractionation in the ice core record using only commonly available ice core data, which is not subject to the uncertainties inherent to estimating the accumulation rate, temperature, close-off depth and depthdiffusivity relationship back in time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water column and sediment stable carbon isotope biogeochemistry of permanently redox‐stratified Fayetteville Green Lake, New York, U.S.A.

TL;DR: In this article, the concentration and stable isotopic signal of inorganic and organic carbon in permanently redox-stratified Fayetteville Green Lake (FGL), New York were analyzed.
