A Gene-Expression Signature as a Predictor of Survival in Breast Cancer
Marc J. van de Vijver,Yudong D. He,Laura J. van't Veer,Hongyue Dai,Augustinus A. M. Hart,D.W. Voskuil,George J. Schreiber,Johannes L. Peterse,Christopher J. Roberts,Matthew J. Marton,Mark Parrish,Douwe Atsma,Anke T. Witteveen,Annuska M. Glas,Leonie J. M. J. Delahaye,Tony van de Velde,Harry Bartelink,Sjoerd Rodenhuis,Emiel J. Th. Rutgers,Stephen H. Friend,René Bernards +20 more
TL;DR: The gene-expression profile studied is a more powerful predictor of the outcome of disease in young patients with breast cancer than standard systems based on clinical and histologic criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
An immune response enriched 72-gene prognostic profile for early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer.
Paul Roepman,Jacek Jassem,Egbert F. Smit,Thomas Muley,Jacek Niklinski,Tony van de Velde,Anke T. Witteveen,Witold Rzyman,Arno Floore,Sjaak Burgers,Giuseppe Giaccone,Michael Meister,Hendrik Dienemann,Marcin Skrzypski,Miroslaw Kozlowski,Wolter J. Mooi,Nico van Zandwijk +16 more
TL;DR: A 72-gene signature is closely associated with recurrence-free and overall survival in early-stage NSCLC patients and may become a tool for patient selection for adjuvant therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resection of pancreatic cancer in Europe and USA: An international large-scale study highlighting large variations
Lei Huang,Lina Jansen,Yesilda Balavarca,Esther Molina-Montes,Masoud Babaei,Lydia G. M. van der Geest,Valery E.P.P. Lemmens,Liesbet Van Eycken,Harlinde De Schutter,T.B. Real,Alfredo Carrato,Xavier Molero,Marc G. Besselink,Núria Malats,Markus W. Büchler,Petra Schrotz-King,Hermann Brenner +39 more
TL;DR: Investigation of variations in resection for PaC in Europe and USA and determinants for its utilisation found rates of PaC resection remain low in European and USA with great international variations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Continuing risk of ipsilateral breast relapse after breast-conserving therapy at long-term follow-up.
Bas Kreike,Augustinus A. M. Hart,Tony van de Velde,Jacques Borger,Hans Peterse,Emiel J. Th. Rutgers,Harry Bartelink,Marc J. van de Vijver +7 more
TL;DR: Long-term follow-up data showed a constant increase in IBR among patients treated by BCT, even after 15 years, without reaching a plateau, and involved surgical resection margins and vascular invasion were the most important risk factors for IBR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time trends in axilla management among early breast cancer patients: Persisting major variation in clinical practice across European centers.
Adam Gondos,Lina Jansen,Jörg Heil,Andreas Schneeweiss,Adri C. Voogd,Jan Frisell,Irma Fredriksson,Ulla Johansson,T.F. Tvedskov,Maj-Britt Jensen,Eva Balslev,Olaf Johan Hartmann-Johnsen,Milena Sant,Paolo Baili,Roberto Agresti,Tony van de Velde,Annegien Broeks,J.M. Nogaret,Pierre Bourgeois,Michel Moreau,Zoltán Mátrai,Ákos Sávolt,Péter Nagy,Miklós Kásler,Petra Schrotz-King,Cornelia M. Ulrich,Hermann Brenner +26 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates persisting differences in important aspects of axillary management throughout the recent decade and highlights the need for international comparative patterns of care studies in oncology, which may help to identify areas where further studies and consensus building may be necessary.
