Lignan derivatives and a norditerpene from the seeds of Vitex negundo
Masateru Ono,Yoichiro Nishida,Chikako Masuoka,Jian-Chen Li,Masafumi Okawa,Tsuyoshi Ikeda,Toshihiro Nohara +6 more
TL;DR: Compounds 1, 2, and 4-7 showed higher radical-scavenging effect on the stable free radical, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, than L-cysteine, and showed stronger antioxidative activity than alpha-tocopherol using the ferric thiocyanate method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-obesity compounds in green leaves of Eucommia ulmoides.
Tetsuya Hirata,T. Kobayashi,A. Wada,T. Ueda,T. Fujikawa,T. Fujikawa,Hiroyuki Miyashita,Tsuyoshi Ikeda,Sachiko Tsukamoto,Toshihiro Nohara +9 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that asperuloside in Eucommia leaves has important anti-obesity effects, similar to those of EGLE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Astragalosides isolated from the root of astragalus radix inhibit the formation of advanced glycation end products.
Keita Motomura,Yukio Fujiwara,Naoko Kiyota,Keiichiro Tsurushima,Motohiro Takeya,Toshihiro Nohara,Ryoji Nagai,Tsuyoshi Ikeda +7 more
TL;DR: Data suggest that AR and astragalosides may be a potentially useful strategy for the prevention of clinical diabetic complications by inhibiting AGEs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies on leguminous plants. Part XXXIV. Six New Triterpenoidal Glycosides Including Two New Sapogenols from Albizziae Cortex. V.
Junei Kinjo,Kaoru Araki,Katsura Fukui,Hiroyuki Higuchi,Tuyoshi Ikeda,Toshihiro Nohara,Yoshiteru Ida,Norimichi Takemoto,Masazumi Miyakoshi,Junzo Shoji +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, six triterpenoid glycosides called julibrosides A1-A4, B1 and C1 were isolated from Albizziae Cortex, the dried stem bark of Albizzia julibrissin Durazz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water-Soluble Constituents of Fennel. V. Glycosides of Aromatic Compounds.
TL;DR: From the water-soluble portion of the methanol extract of the herbal medicine fennel, the fruit of Foeniculum vulgare MILLER (Umbelliferae) as mentioned in this paper, four new phenylpropanoid glycosides, three new benzyl alcohol derivatives, one new phenylethanoid and its glycoside were obtained.
