Photocatalytic de-pollution in the Leopold II tunnel in Brussels: NOx abatement results
M. Gallus,V. Akylas,Fotios Barmpas,Anne Beeldens,E Boonen,Antoinette Boreave,Mathieu Cazaunau,Hui Chen,Véronique Daële,Jean-François Doussin,Yoan Dupart,Cécile Gaimoz,Christian George,Benoit Grosselin,Hartmut Herrmann,S. Ifang,Ralf Kurtenbach,M. Maille,Abdelwahid Mellouki,K. Miet,F. Mothes,Nicolas Moussiopoulos,Laurent Poulain,R. Rabe,P. Zapf,J. Kleffmann +25 more
TL;DR: In this article, an upper limit of 2% was determined for the maximum possible NOx reduction in the Leopold II tunnel in Brussels, Belgium, using photocatalytic cementitious coating materials and an artificial UV lighting system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetics of OH Radical Reactions with Methane in the Temperature Range 295−660 K and with Dimethyl Ether and Methyl-tert-butyl Ether in the Temperature Range 295−618 K
TL;DR: In this article, the rate constants of the reactions of OH radicals with dimethyl ether and methyl-tert-butyl ether were measured in the temperature domain of 295−660 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seasonal and diurnal variations of BTEX compounds in the semi-urban environment of Orleans, France
TL;DR: Benzene was found in relatively high levels and the B/T ratio was significant high in spring, indicating an irregular emission source of benzene other than traffic-related emissions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ozone formation from illuminated titanium dioxide surfaces.
María Eugenia Monge,Christian George,Barbara D'Anna,Jean-François Doussin,Adla Jammoul,Junnan Wang,Gregory Eyglunent,G. Solignac,Véronique Daële,Abdelwahid Mellouki +9 more
TL;DR: This is the first study that reveals the production of O(3) from TiO(2) surfaces by surface charge transfer reactions, nitrate anions are oxidized into nitrate radicals and their photochemistry leads to O( 3) formation, enhancing the oxidizing power of these surfaces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Construction of a photocatalytic de-polluting field site in the Leopold II tunnel in Brussels
E Boonen,V. Akylas,Fotios Barmpas,Antoinette Boreave,L. Bottalico,Mathieu Cazaunau,Hui Chen,Véronique Daële,T. De Marco,Jean-François Doussin,Cécile Gaimoz,M. Gallus,Christian George,Noël Grand,Benoit Grosselin,Gl Guerrini,Hartmut Herrmann,S. Ifang,J. Kleffmann,Ralf Kurtenbach,M. Maille,G. Manganelli,Abdelwahid Mellouki,K. Miet,F. Mothes,Nicolas Moussiopoulos,Laurent Poulain,R. Rabe,P. Zapf,Anne Beeldens +29 more
TL;DR: The configuration of the test sections used and the preparation and implementation of the measuring campaigns inside the Leopold II tunnel are presented and recommendations for future applications of photocatalytic building materials inside tunnels are given.
