TL;DR: The classification working group of the International Society of Urological Pathology consensus conference on renal neoplasia was in charge of making recommendations regarding additions and changes to the current World Health Organization Classification of Renal Tumors, with consensus that 5 entities should be recognized as new distinct epithelial tumors within the classification system.
Journal ArticleDOI
A postoperative prognostic nomogram for renal cell carcinoma
TL;DR: A nomogram has been developed that can be used to predict the 5-year probability of treatment failure among patients with newly diagnosed renal cell carcinoma and may be useful for patient counseling, clinical trial design and patient followup planning.
Journal ArticleDOI
Renal oncocytoma: A clinicopathologic study of 70 cases
Bayardo Perez-Ordonez,Ghiath Hamed,Steven C. Campbell,Robert A. Erlandson,Paul Russo,Paul B. Gaudin,Victor E. Reuter +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that renal oncocytomas have a varied morphologic appearance and their pathologic diagnosis should be based on a constellation of architectural and cytologic features.
Journal Article
Contemporary approach to the classification of renal epithelial tumors.
Victor E. Reuter,Presti Jc +1 more
TL;DR: Using conventional pathologic tools such as hematoxylin and eosin staining, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and electron microscopy, the majority of renal epithelial neoplasia tumors are properly classified, but approximately 6% to 7% of cases are impossible to classify, thus requiring molecular genetic studies for proper characterization.
