Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of short and long-range effects on the magnetic interactions in neutral organic radical-based materials

TL;DR: The ab initio calculations of verdazyl radical pairs suggest that the addition of NO2 groups cause the variations of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic contributions to cancel out, leaving an almost constant exchange coupling constant, and enhanced conduction properties can be anticipated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Angular Distortions at Benzylic Carbons Due to Intramolecular Polarization-Induced Metal–Arene Interactions: A Case Study with Open-Shell Chromium(II) NHC Complexes

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and full characterization of the open-shell Cr(II) benzyl organometallic complexes [Cr(NHC)2(benzyl)2] (2) and [CrCl2(THF) 2]/[Mg(Benzyl), respectively, uncovered unusually acute angles at the sp3 benzylic C of the coordinated benzyl ligands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endohedral Functionalized Cage as a Tool to Create Frustrated Lewis Pairs

TL;DR: A frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) system was obtained by confinement of the Lewis base partner, a Verkade's superbase, in a molecular cavity, and it was evidenced that no interaction between the Lewis acidic and basic partners occurred when the superbase was capped by a cycloveratrylene (CTV) unit, thus creating a true FLP active system.
