Global timber investments, wood costs, regulation, and risk

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimated financial returns and wood production costs in 2008 for the primary timber plantation species, including land costs, and found that returns for exotic plantations in almost all of South America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, and Paraguay) were substantial.

Global pulpwood markets and the Law of One Price

TL;DR: The objective of this research was to study the global pulpwood market and the relationships among the most important producers and the results suggested that while several long-term price relationships have been discovered, the LOP generally did not hold.
