TL;DR: The new ENDF/B-VIII.0 evaluated nuclear reaction data library as mentioned in this paper includes improved thermal neutron scattering data and uses new evaluated data from the CIELO project for neutron reactions on 1 H, 16 O, 56 Fe, 235 U, 238 U and 239 Pu described in companion papers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Individual pebble temperature peaking factor due to local pebble arrangement in a pebble bed reactor core
TL;DR: In this paper, the PBMR-400 core design was used as the basis for evaluating pebble bed reactor safety and it was shown that the stochastic nature of the PEBble bed cannot lead to highly elevated fuel temperatures but rather local or core-wide coolant flow reductions are the likely cause.
Journal ArticleDOI
Current nuclear data needs for applications
K. Kolos,Vladimir Sobes,Ramona Vogt,C. Romano,Michael S. Smith,L. A. Bernstein,David A. Brown,M. T. Burkey,Yaron Danon,Mohamed A. Elsawi,Bethany L. Goldblum,Lawrence Heilbronn,Susan L. Wieselquist,M.L. Zerkle +25 more
TL;DR: A perspective piece as discussed by the authors provides the latest advances in nuclear data for applications and describes an outlook for both near and long-term progress in the field of nuclear data analysis and analysis.

Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic Algorithm Design of a Coupled Fast and Thermal Subcritical Assembly
TL;DR: The facility proposed in this paper would be a flexible platform for expanding the knowledge of fast spectrum neutron cross sections needed for next-generation fast reactor designs and would be customizable and interchangeable down to 1 × 1 × 10-in.-volume sections.
