Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic heterogeneity and non-Gaussian statistics for acetylcholine receptors on live cell membrane.
TL;DR: It is reported that the lateral motion of the acetylcholine receptors on live muscle cell membranes does not follow the Gaussian statistics for normal Brownian diffusion, and the normalized histogram of the protein displacements shows an exponential tail.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-aromatic annulene-based aggregation-induced emission system via aromaticity reversal process.
Zheng Zhao,Xiaoyan Zheng,Lili Du,Lili Du,Yu Xiong,Wei He,Xiuxiu Gao,Chunli Li,Yingjie Liu,Bin Xu,Jing Zhang,Fengyan Song,Ying Yu,Xueqian Zhao,Yuanjing Cai,Xuewen He,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Xuhui Huang,David Lee Phillips,Hua Wang,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +22 more
TL;DR: A further mechanism for AIE is reported, through aromaticity reversal from the ground state to the excited state, in the non-aromatic annulene derivative of cyclooctatetrathiophene, which is demonstrated as a reliable strategy to develop vibrational AIE systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
AIEgens for microbial detection and antimicrobial therapy
Haotian Bai,Wei He,Joe H. C. Chau,Zheng Zheng,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky W. Y. Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +7 more
TL;DR: This review highlighted the latest advancements of AIEgen-based biofunctional materials and systems in this research field and found that the AIEgens-based photosensitizers with strong photosensitization show good performance on the efficient elimination of multidrug-resistant bacteria and intracellular bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Red AIE-Active Fluorescent Probes with Tunable Organelle-Specific Targeting
Parvej Alam,Wei He,Nelson L. C. Leung,Chao Ma,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Herman H. Y. Sung,Ian D. Williams,Kam Sing Wong,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +10 more
TL;DR: A platform for synthesizing efficient red‐emitting aggregation‐induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) with donor–acceptor characteristics is reported, which serves as a good potential candidate for specific organelle targeting, as well as illustrate how such a platform can easily aid in the study of structure–property relationships for designing such probes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multifunctional Supramolecular Assemblies with Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE) for Cell Line Identification, Cell Contamination Evaluation, and Cancer Cell Discrimination.
Haotian Bai,Zhiyang Liu,Tianfu Zhang,Jian Du,Chengcheng Zhou,Wei He,Joe H. C. Chau,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky W. Y. Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +10 more
TL;DR: Inspired by the concept of Big Data Analysis (BDA), these fluorescence signals were further transformed into a unique fingerprint of cells via linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and realized the veracious identification between a normal cell line, two cancer cell lines and two metastasize cancer cell Lines at qualitative analysis.
