New Constraints on Spin-Spin-Velocity-Dependent Interaction

TL;DR: The existence of exotic spin-dependent forces may shine light on new physics beyond the Standard Model as mentioned in this paper , where the authors utilize two iron-shielded SmCo 5 electron-spin sources and two optically pumped magnetometers to search for exotic long-range spin and velocity dependent forces.

Spin-polarized correlated insulator in monolayer MoTe2-x

TL;DR: In this article , the kagome flat bands are discovered by combining scanning tunnelling microscopy and theoretical calculations, showing that the partial filling nature of flat bands yields a correlated insulating state exhibiting a hard gap as large as 15 meV.
Journal ArticleDOI

High excellent hydrogen evolution characteristics and novel mechanism of two-dimensional tetra-phase OsN2 and ReN2.

TL;DR: In this paper , two-dimensional transition metal nitrides, tetra-phase OsN2 and ReN2 monolayers, were discovered as potential HER electrocatalysts with superior thermodynamic and kinetic stability, and they exhibited excellent catalytic activity due to the presence of multiple active sites with a density of 8 × 1015 site per cm2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement in Two-Photon Absorption and Photoluminescence in Single Crystals of Cd(II) Metal Organic Frameworks.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated two-photon-absorption (2PA)-induced photoluminescence of four new Cd(II) MOFs based on an acceptor-π-donor -π-acceptor trans, trans-9, 10-bis(4-pyridylethenyl)anthracene chromophore linker.
