TL;DR: In the latest phase of the project, participants used an assortment of simulation codes to model the coupled dynamic response of a 5MW wind turbine installed on a floating semisubmersible in 200 m of water as mentioned in this paper.

TL;DR: In this article, the results of the IEA Wind Task 30 (OC4) Phase I, focused on the coupled simulation of an offshore wind turbine (OWT) with a jacket support structure, are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic analysis of a multi-column TLP floating offshore wind turbine with tendon failure scenarios
TL;DR: In this paper , the design and dynamic analysis of a multi-column tension leg platform floating offshore wind turbine (TLP FOWT) with broken tendons was presented. But the tendon failure affected the turbine's heave, pitch and roll motions, hence its natural frequencies, and the tension in the non-broken tendons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Second-order hydrodynamic effects on the response of three semisubmersible floating offshore wind turbines
TL;DR: In this article, a hydrodynamic analysis of three different semisubmersible floating offshore wind turbines is carried out including second-order hydrodynamics effects, and the effects of secondorder wave loads on the platform motions and mooring tension are discussed and compared by using different methods including Newman's approximation and the full QTF (Quadratic transfer function) method.
