Measuring urban sprawl and its drivers in large Chinese cities: The case of Hangzhou

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors examined features and driving forces of urban sprawl in Hangzhou from 1995 to 2005 by using urban expansion classification, density analysis, spatial metrics, and geospatial analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

The relationship between land surface temperature and NDVI with remote sensing: application to Shanghai Landsat 7 ETM+ data

TL;DR: The relationship between land surface temperature (LST) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) associated with urban land use type and land-use pattern was discussed in the City of Shanghai, China using data collected by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) and aerial photographic remote sensing system as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accessibility of public urban green space in an urban periphery: The case of Shanghai

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper studied the accessibility of public urban green spaces in the context of rapid land transformation within the urban periphery, and illustrated how to evaluate the access to public green spaces of an urban periphery and how planning processes can influence the improvement of such access.

Urban land expansion and regional inequality in transitional China

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed spatial patterns and dynamics of urban land expansion in China to better understand the role of institutions and urbanization in spatial inequality, and found that urban land expansions are highly uneven at both intra-provincial and intra-prefectural levels, and inequalities are much higher in the Western region than the Eastern region.
