Journal ArticleDOI

Holotomography: Quantitative phase tomography with micrometer resolution using hard synchrotron radiation x rays.

TL;DR: In this article, a holographic reconstruction procedure combining images taken at different distances from the specimen was developed, which results in quantitative phase mapping and, through association with threedimensional reconstruction, in holotomography, the complete three-dimensional mapping of the density in a sample.
Journal ArticleDOI

Predicting the oceanic input of organic carbon by continental erosion

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors established the empirical relations existing between the observed organic carbon fluxes and the climatic, biologic, and geomorphologic patterns characterizing the river basins.
Journal ArticleDOI

River discharges of water and nutrients to the Mediterranean and Black Sea: Major drivers for ecosystem changes during past and future decades?

TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial and temporal variability of these inputs since the early 1960s, based on a review of available data on water discharge, nutrient concentrations and climatic parameters, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Worldwide distribution of continental rock lithology: Implications for the atmospheric/soil CO2 uptake by continental weathering and alkalinity river transport to the oceans

TL;DR: In this article, the spatial distribution of the six main rock types by latitude, continents, and ocean drainage basins and for 49 large river basins was analyzed for a grid resolution of 1° × 1°.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray micro-tomography an attractive characterisation technique in materials science

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present selected results obtained in various investigations of metallic materials such as superplastic deformation, materials in the semi-solid state and metallic foams.
