Journal ArticleDOI

Interhemispheric asymmetries of the modular structure in human temporal cortex.

TL;DR: The present data suggest that more functionally distinct columnar systems are included per surface unit in the left than in the right area 22, suggesting similar relations between functional and anatomical architecture as in visual cortex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Delayed neuronal death and delayed neuronal recovery in the human brain following global ischemia

TL;DR: The immunohistochemical results indicate delayed neuronal recovery in CA1, which in the time course reciprocally corresponds to delayed manifestation of hippocampal neuronal death, in contrasts to the immediate manifestation of ischemic neuronal necrosis in the neocortex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased choline levels coincide with enhanced proliferative activity of human neuroepithelial brain tumors

TL;DR: It was concluded that the determination of tCho‐concentrations using in vivo 1H MRS could provide a novel and noninvasive assessment of the proliferative activity of neuroepithelial brain tumors, pointing at 1HMRS as a useful method for differentiating proliferating from non‐proliferating tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ezrin Immunoreactivity Is Associated with Increasing Malignancy of Astrocytic Tumors but Is Absent in Oligodendrogliomas

TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that the increase of ezrin-IR correlated significantly with increasing malignancy of glioblastomas (P < 0.0001) and anaplastic astrocytomas (World Health Organization grade III).
