Influenza-associated excess respiratory mortality in China, 2010-15: a population-based study.

TL;DR: Influenza was associated with substantial excess respiratory mortality in China between 2010-11 and 2014-15 seasons, especially in older adults aged at least 60 years, and continuous and high-quality surveillance data are needed to improve the estimation of the disease burden attributable to influenza.

Patterns of human social contact and contact with animals in Shanghai, China.

TL;DR: Human-human contact was very frequent but contact with animals was rare although associated with frequent human- human contact in a high-income densely-populated area of China, Shanghai City, and it is proposed that telephone interview at the end of reporting day is a potential improvement of the design of future contact surveys.
