The Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model (BCC-CSM): the main progress from CMIP5 to CMIP6

TL;DR: In this paper, the main advancements of the Beijing Climate Center (BCC) climate system model from phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) to phase 6 (CMP6) are presented, in terms of physical parameterizations and model performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global carbon budgets simulated by the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model for the last century

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined terrestrial and oceanic carbon budgets from preindustrial time to present day in the version of Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model (BCC-CSM1.1) which is a global fully coupled climate-carbon cycle model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-year simulations and experimental seasonal predictions for rainy seasons in China by using a nested regional climate model (RegCM_NCC). Part I: Sensitivity study

TL;DR: A modified version of the NCAR/RegCM2 has been developed at the National Climate Center (NCC), China Meteorological Administration, through a series of sensitivity experiments and multi-year simulations and hindcasts, with a special emphasis on the adequate choice of physical parameterization schemes suitable for the East Asian monsoon climate.
