Journal ArticleDOI
A novel clinical entity, IgG4-related disease (IgG4RD): general concept and details
Hisanori Umehara,Kazuichi Okazaki,Yasufumi Masaki,Mitsuhiro Kawano,Motohisa Yamamoto,Takako Saeki,Shoko Matsui,Takayuki Sumida,Tsuneyo Mimori,Yoshiya Tanaka,Kazuo Tsubota,Tadashi Yoshino,Shigeyuki Kawa,Ritsuro Suzuki,Tsutomu Takegami,Naohisa Tomosugi,Nozomu Kurose,Yasuhito Ishigaki,Atsushi Azumi,Masaru Kojima,Shigeo Nakamura,Dai Inoue +21 more
TL;DR: Although IgG4RD forms a distinct, clinically independent disease category and is attracting strong attention as a new clinical entity, many questions and problems still remain to be elucidated, including its pathogenesis, the establishment of diagnostic criteria, and the role of IgG 4.
Journal ArticleDOI
Linagliptin-mediated DPP-4 inhibition ameliorates kidney fibrosis in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice by inhibiting endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition in a therapeutic regimen
Keizo Kanasaki,Sen Shi,Megumi Kanasaki,Jianhua He,Takako Nagai,Yuka Nakamura,Yasuhito Ishigaki,Munehiro Kitada,Swayam Prakash Srivastava,Daisuke Koya +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that the DPP-4 inhibitor linagliptin ameliorated kidney fibrosis in diabetic mice without altering the blood glucose levels associated with the inhibition of EndMT and the restoration of microRNA 29s.
Journal ArticleDOI
The exon junction complex is detected on CBP80-bound but not eIF4E-bound mRNA in mammalian cells: dynamics of mRNP remodeling
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that nuclear CBP80 but not nuclear eIF4E is readily detected in association with intron‐containing RNA and the C‐terminal domain of RNA polymerase II, and it is demonstrated that RNPS1, Y14, SRm160, REF/Aly, TAP, Upf3X and Upf2 are detected in the nuclear fraction on CBP 80‐bound but not eif4E‐bound mRNA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photodegradation of 4-alkylphenols using BiVO4 photocatalyst under irradiation with visible light from a solar simulator
Shigeru Kohtani,Masaya Koshiko,Akihiko Kudo,Kunihiro Tokumura,Yasuhito Ishigaki,Akira Toriba,Kazuichi Hayakawa,Ryoichi Nakagaki +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a visible-light-driven photocatalyst, BiVO 4, has been applied for degradation of a series of linear 4- n -alkylphenols under irradiation from a solar simulator.
Journal ArticleDOI
Supranuclear Melanin Caps Reduce Ultraviolet Induced DNA Photoproducts in Human Epidermis
Nobuhiko Kobayashi,Akemi Nakagawa,Tsutomu Muramatsu,Yukio Yamashina,Toshihiko Shirai,Mitsumasa W. Hashimoto,Yasuhito Ishigaki,Takeo Ohnishi,Toshio Mori +8 more
TL;DR: Melanin reduces ultraviolet induced DNA photoproducts in human epidermal cells in a concentration dependent manner, suggesting that intracellular melan in reduces ultraviolet transmission to underlying cell nuclei and inhibits the formation of ultraviolet inducedDNA photopProducts.
