Representation learning with extreme learning machines and empirical mode decomposition for wind speed forecasting methods
Hao-Fan Yang,Yi-Ping Phoebe Chen +1 more
TL;DR: A hybrid model, which is hybridized by empirical mode decomposition, stacked auto-encoders, and extreme learning machines, aiming to forecast wind speed accurately and efficiently is proposed, and the effectiveness of the shared-hidden-layer approach for deep networks is demonstrated.

Machine learning on adverse drug reactions for pharmacovigilance.
Chun Yen Lee,Yi-Ping Phoebe Chen +1 more
TL;DR: A potential high-performance deep learning framework for its successful applications in these practices to predict adverse drug reactions, repurpose drugs and perform precision medicine is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of protein complexes by integrating multiple alignment of protein interaction networks.
TL;DR: The results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms well‐known protein complex identification tools in a balance between precision and recall on three eukaryotic species and can tolerate edge loss in PPI networks and even discover sparse protein complexes which have traditionally been a challenge to predict.
Journal ArticleDOI
Data mining in lung cancer pathologic staging diagnosis
Hao-Fan Yang,Yi-Ping Phoebe Chen +1 more
TL;DR: The data mining techniques are used to find the correlation between the clinical information and the pathology report in order to support lung cancer pathologic staging diagnosis.
