TL;DR: It is shown here how to identify the different types of sarcoma patients using a single test tube:.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduced the notion of harmonic stability for complete minimal hypersurfaces in a complete Riemannian manifold and proved that a complete harmonic stable minimal surface in such a manifold is conformally equivalent to either a plane R2 or a cylinder R × S1.
Abstract: In this paper, we will introduce the notion of harmonic stability for complete minimal hypersurfaces in a complete Riemannian manifold. The first result we prove, is that a complete harmonic stable minimal surface in a Riemannian manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature is conformally equivalent to either a plane R2 or a cylinder R × S1, which generalizes a theorem due to Fischer-Colbrie and Schoen [12].

TL;DR: In this paper, a real hypersurface M in complex hyperbolic space HnC satisfying SA = AS is considered, where, A and S denote the structure tensor, the shape operator and the Ricci tensor of M respectively.
Abstract: In this paper we consider a real hypersurface M in complex hyperbolic space HnC satisfying SA = AS , where , A and S denote the structure tensor, the shape operator and the Ricci tensor of M respectively. Moreover, we give a characterization of real hypersurfaces of type A in HnC by such a commuting Ricci tensor.

TL;DR: A mass lesion on mammography, a palpable mass, and 14G core needle biopsy were significant predictors of invasion in patients with ductal carcinoma in situ.
Abstract: that predict the presence of invasive cancer after core biopsy for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Methods: The patients diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ on core biopsy (stereotactic or ultrasound) from February 2003 to May 2007 were identified by retrospectively reviewing the collected data. We analyzed the demographic data, the characteristics on the imaging studies and the histologic features on DCIS. We assessed the factors that included age, the physical examination, the radiologic findings, the biopsy method, and the histologic findings related to the presence of invasive cancer after core biopsy. Results: Fifty-one patients were diagnosed with DCIS after core biopsy. Of the 51 patients, 19 patients had invasive carcinoma diagnosed on final excision. The factors that correlated with invasion were the biopsy method, a palpable mass and a mammographic mass, regardless of calcification. A high nuclear grade, the comedo type, age, and the tumor size were not related to presence of invasive cancer. Conclusion: A mass lesion on mammography, a palpable mass, and 14G core needle biopsy were significant predictors of invasion in patients with ductal carcinoma in situ. Surgeons always recognize the possibility of invasive cancer in patients with ductal carcinoma in situ on the core needle biopsy.

TL;DR: In patients with primary hyperparathyroidism, increased PTH activates 1,25(OH)2D and enhances calcium absorption in the gut and leads to an elevated risk of colorectal cancer.
Abstract: Hypercalcemia is often observed in cancer patients secondary to parathyroid hormone (PTH) related peptide production. However, primary hyperparathyroidism and colon cancer rarely present simultaneously. Calcium is believed to have a chemopreventive effect against colorectal cancer because it reduces crypt cell hyperproliferation in both humans and in animals. There is evidence to suggest that the incidence of colorectal cancer in humans is reduced by high calcium intake. In patients with primary hyperparathyroidism, increased PTH activates 1,25(OH)2D and enhances calcium absorption in the gut. Consequently, the calcium level in the lumen is decreased, leading to an elevated risk of colorectal cancer. We report two patients with colon cancer and hypercalcemia secondary to primary hyperparathyroidism, along with a brief review of the literature. (J Korean Endocr Soc 23:204~209, 2008)

TL;DR: This work summarizes important results and experience related to the use of a selective cyclooxygenase 2 inhibitor and adenovirus-mediated delivery of mda-7 and demonstrates the synergistic effects of these two efficient treatment options or to demonstrate preventive measures to reduce the size of tumors.
Abstract: Recently, many preclinical and clinical researches have focused on the possible roles of new therapeutic modalities to enhance current treatment efficacy or to extend the current limitations against breast cancer treatment. Th melanoma differentiation-associated gene-7 (mda-7 ), now classified as a member of the interleukin (IL)-10 gene family, has attracted attentions from several investigators for its unique ability to act against various cancers including breast cancer. In addition to mda-7, highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox2) inhibitors, have continuously demonstrated possible anticancer effects against various cancers even though theray with many of the inhibitors has resulted in major set backs due to complications after long-term use. However, few have performed to demonstrate the synergistic effects of these two efficient treatment options or to demonstrate preventive measures to reduce the size of tumors. We summarize important results and our experience related to the use of a selective cyclooxygenase 2 inhibitor and adenovirus-mediated delivery of mda-7.
