A Short Nur77-Derived Peptide Converts Bcl-2 from a Protector to a Killer
Siva Kumar Kolluri,Xiuwen Zhu,Xin Zhou,Bingzhen Lin,Ya Chen,Kai Sun,Xuefei Tian,James Town,Xihua Cao,Feng Lin,Dayong Zhai,Shinichi Kitada,Frederick Luciano,Edmond F. O’Donnell,Yu Cao,Feng He,Jialing Lin,John C. Reed,Arnold C. Satterthwait,Xiao-kun Zhang +19 more
TL;DR: The identification of a Nur77-derived Bcl-2-converting peptide with 9 amino acids (NuBCP-9) and its enantiomer, which induce apoptosis of cancer cells in vitro and in animals.
Journal ArticleDOI
NSAID Sulindac and Its Analog Bind RXRα and Inhibit RXRα-Dependent AKT Signaling
Hu Zhou,Wen Liu,Ying Su,Zhen Wei,Jie Liu,Jie Liu,Siva Kumar Kolluri,Hua Wu,Yu Cao,Jiebo Chen,Yin Wu,Tingdong Yan,Xihua Cao,Weiwei Gao,Andrei Molotkov,Fuquan Jiang,Wengang Li,Bingzhen Lin,Hai-Ping Zhang,Jinghua Yu,Shi-Peng Luo,Jin-Zhang Zeng,Gregg Duester,Pei-Qiang Huang,Xiao-kun Zhang,Xiao-kun Zhang +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported that Sulindac, an NSAID, induces apoptosis by binding to retinoid X receptor-alpha (RXRalpha) in several cancer cell lines and primary tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modulation of Orphan Nuclear Receptor Nur77-Mediated Apoptotic Pathway by Acetylshikonin and Analogues
Jie Liu,Wen Zhou,Shao-Shun Li,Zhe Sun,Bingzhen Lin,Yuan-Yuan Lang,Jia-You He,Xihua Cao,Tingdong Yan,Li Wang,Jiongming Lu,Young-Hoon Han,Yu Cao,Xiao-kun Zhang,Jin-Zhang Zeng +14 more
TL;DR: This work reports that certain shikonin derivatives could modulate the Nur77/Bcl-2 apoptotic pathway by increasing levels of Nur77 protein and promoting its mitochondrial targeting in cancer cells and identifies a new shik onin-based lead that targets Nur77 for apoptosis induction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression and immunogenicity of hepatitis E virus-like particles based on recombinant truncated ORF2 capsid protein.
TL;DR: In this paper , the truncated ORF2 encoded protein of 439aa∼617aa (HEV3-179) from HEV CCJD-517 isolates was expressed as VLPs in E. coli with diameters of approximate 20 nm.
