Journal ArticleDOI
Extensive variation within the pan-genome of cultivated and wild sorghum.
Yongfu Tao,Hong Luo,Jiabao Xu,Alan Cruickshank,Xianrong Zhao,Fei Teng,Adrian Hathorn,Xiaoyuan Wu,Yuanming Liu,Tracey Shatte,David Jordan,Hai-Chun Jing,Emma S. Mace,Emma S. Mace +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a pan-genome of 44,079 gene families with 222.6 mb of new sequence identified was generated for the sorghum primary gene pool, and the distribution of these variations was influenced by variation of recombination rate and transposable element content across the genome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping QTLs for defective female gametophyte development in an inter-subspecific cross in Oryza sativa L.
TL;DR: The result demonstrated that a polygenic system is involved in both megagametogenesis and postzygotic isolation in inter-subspecific hybrid rice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sorghum breeding in the genomic era: opportunities and challenges
Huaiqing Hao,Zhigang Li,Chuan-Yuan Leng,Cheng Lu,Hong Luo,Yuanming Liu,Xiaoyuan Wu,Zhi-Quan Liu,Li Shang,Hai-Chun Jing +9 more
TL;DR: The importance and potential of the multi-purpose crop sorghum in global food security have not yet been fully exploited, and the integration of the state-of-the-art genomics and high-throughput technologies into breeding practice is required as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic footprints of sorghum domestication and breeding selection for multiple end uses.
Xiaoyuan Wu,Yuanming Liu,Hong-bing Luo,Li Shang,Chuan-Yuan Leng,Zhiquan Liu,Zhigang Li,Xiaochun Lu,Hongwei Cai,Huaiqing Hao,Hai-Chun Jing +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , population genomics analyses were performed on a worldwide collection of 445 sorghum accessions, covering wild and four end-use subpopulations with diverse agronomic traits.
Journal ArticleDOI
SorGSD: updating and expanding the sorghum genome science database with new contents and tools.
Yuanming Liu,Zhonghuang Wang,Xiaoyuan Wu,Junwei Zhu,Hong Luo,Dongmei Tian,Cuiping Li,Jingchu Luo,Wenming Zhao,Huaiqing Hao,Hai-Chun Jing +10 more
TL;DR: SorGSD is a comprehensive integration with large-scale genomic variation, phenotypic information and incorporates online data analysis tools for data mining, genome navigation and analysis and could provide a valuable resource for sorghum researchers to find variations they are interested in and generate customized high-throughput datasets for further analysis.
