Journal ArticleDOI

Receptor binding and complex structures of human ACE2 to spike RBD from omicron and delta SARS-CoV-2

TL;DR: In this article , the binding properties between the human receptor ACE2 (hACE2) and the VOC RBDs were studied and the crystal and cryoelectron microscopy structures of the omicron RBD-hACE 2 complex were resolved.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Architecture of Inactivated SARS-CoV-2 with Postfusion Spikes Revealed by Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET.

TL;DR: This work genetically and structurally characterized β-propiolactone-inactivated viruses from a propagated and purified clinical strain of SARS-CoV-2 and observed that the virus particles are roughly spherical or moderately pleiomorphic, thus resembling a postfusion state.
Posted ContentDOI

Viral Architecture of SARS-CoV-2 with Post-Fusion Spike Revealed by Cryo-EM

TL;DR: The morphology of virion observed in the result indicates that the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 is in post-fusion state, with S1 disassociated, which could provide an important information for the identification and relevant clinical research of this new coronavirus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Omicron SARS-CoV-2 mutations stabilize spike up-RBD conformation and lead to a non-RBM-binding monoclonal antibody escape

TL;DR: Systematic structural analyses on apo Omicron spike and its complexes with human ACE2 or S309 neutralizing antibody by cryo-EM found that S371L, S373P and S375F substitutions enhance the stability of the one-RBD-up conformation to prevent exposing more up-R BDs triggered by ACE2 binding.
Journal ArticleDOI

The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation switch of VCP/p97 regulates the architecture of centrosome and spindle

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1), a key mitotic kinase, phosphorylates residue Thr76 in VCP/p97 (an AAA-ATPase), at the centrosome from prophase to anaphase, and regulates centrosomes orientation.
