Journal ArticleDOI
Abrogation of skin disease in LUPUS‐prone MRL/FASlpr mice by means of a novel tylophorine analog
Jin-Young Choi,Wenli Gao,Jared M. Odegard,Her-Shyong Shiah,Michael Kashgarian,Jennifer M. McNiff,David C. Baker,Yung-Chi Cheng,Joe Craft +8 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that end-organ disease in MRL/Fas(lpr) mice responds differentially to NF-kappaB inhibitor and may potentially be beneficial in the treatment of inflammatory skin disease in SLE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of anti-HIV 2'-β-fluoro-2',3'-dideoxynucleoside analogs on the cellular content of mitochondrial DNA and on lactate production
TL;DR: There appears to be a concentration-related correlation between the increase of lactic acid and the extent of mtDNA inhibition for the compounds examined, and the highest ratios indicating the greatest potential for delayed toxicity.
Journal Article
Effect of 4β-Arylamino Derivatives of 4′-O-Demethylepipodophyllotoxin on Human DNA Topoisomerase II, Tubulin Polymerization, KB Cells, and Their Resistant Variants
TL;DR: Six 4 beta-arylamino derivatives of 4'-O-demethylepipodophyllotoxin were examined for inhibitory activity against human DNA topoisomerase II and tubulin polymerization, their ability to generate protein-linked DNA breaks in cells, and their cytotoxicity toward the KB cell line and its VP-16- and vincristine-resistant variants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antitumor agents—CLXXIII. Synthesis and evaluation of camptothecin-4β-amino-4′-O-demethyl epipodophyllotoxin conjugates as inhibitors of mammalian DNA topoisomerases and as cytotoxic agents☆
TL;DR: Conjugation afforded cleavable complex-forming topoisomerase inhibitors which display dual target specificity and a broad spectrum of cytotoxic activity against drug-resistant cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Purine metabolism in primitive erythrocytes.
Robert E. Parks,Phyllis R. Brown,Yung-Chi Cheng,Kailash C. Agarwal,Chong M. Kong,Ram P. Agarwal,Christopher C. Parks +6 more
TL;DR: Erythrocytic NDP kinase activities were high and electrophoretically heterogeneous in all species examined and patterns of nucleotide extracts of whole blood and erythrocytes in seal, eel, hagfish, dogfish, nurse shark and stingray were similar when determined by high-pressure liquid chromatography.
