Journal Article
Glucocorticoid receptors and glucocorticoid-sensitive secretion of neutral proteinases in a macrophage line.
TL;DR: The interaction between glucocorticoids and the P388D1 cell line provides a model for the regulation of macrophage secretion of neutral proteinases under normal and stress conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Transcription Factor ZNF217 Is a Prognostic Biomarker and Therapeutic Target during Breast Cancer Progression
Laurie E. Littlepage,Adam S. Adler,Adam S. Adler,Hosein Kouros-Mehr,Hosein Kouros-Mehr,Guiqing Huang,Jonathan Chou,Sheryl R. Krig,Obi L. Griffith,James E. Korkola,Kun Qu,Devon A. Lawson,Qing Xue,Mark D. Sternlicht,Gerrit J. P. Dijkgraaf,Gerrit J. P. Dijkgraaf,Paul Yaswen,Hope S. Rugo,Colleen A Sweeney,Colin Collins,Colin Collins,Joe W. Gray,Joe W. Gray,Joe W. Gray,Howard Y. Chang,Howard Y. Chang,Zena Werb +26 more
TL;DR: It is found that ZNF217 is a poor prognostic indicator and therapeutic target in patients with breast cancer and may be a strong biomarker of triciribine treatment efficacy in patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autophagic Degradation of NBR1 Restricts Metastatic Outgrowth during Mammary Tumor Progression.
Timothy Marsh,Candia M. Kenific,Deepthisri Suresh,Hugo Gonzalez,Eliah R. Shamir,Wenbin Mei,Alexandra Tankka,Andrew M. Leidal,Sandhya Kalavacherla,Kimberly Woo,Zena Werb,Jayanta Debnath +11 more
TL;DR: Autophagy-dependent control of NBR1 as a key determinant of metastatic progression is highlighted and analysis of human breast cancer data reveal that autophagy gene expression inversely correlates with pro-metastatic differentiation signatures and predicts overall and distant metastasis-free survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Collagenase expression and endogenous activation in rabbit synovial fibroblasts stimulated by the calcium ionophore A23187.
E N Unemori,Zena Werb +1 more
TL;DR: Addition of serine, thiol-, and metalloproteinase inhibitors with A23187 to rabbit fibroblasts inhibited conversion of procollagenase to its active form to varying degrees, suggesting that enzymes in these classes are involved in a cascade of proteolytic events leading to collagenase activation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytochalasin B increases collagenase production by cells in vitro
TL;DR: The effect on collagenase production by rabbit synovial fibroblasts of cytochalasin B (CB), which perturbs membranes in ways similar to phagocytosis, is tested.
