TL;DR: In this chapter, the state of knowledge in several aspects of deep-sea cephalopod research are summarized, including information sources for these animals, diversity and general biogeography and life cycles, including reproduction.
Abstract: "Deep-sea" cephalopods are here defined as cephalopods that spend a significant part of their life cycles outside the euphotic zone. In this chapter, the state of knowledge in several aspects of deep-sea cephalopod research are summarized, including information sources for these animals, diversity and general biogeography and life cycles, including reproduction. Recommendations are made for addressing some of the remaining knowledge deficiencies using a variety of traditional and more recently developed methods. The types of oceanic gear that are suitable for collecting cephalopod specimens and images are reviewed. Many groups of deep-sea cephalopods require taxonomic reviews, ideally based on both morphological and molecular characters. Museum collections play a vital role in these revisions, and novel (molecular) techniques may facilitate new use of old museum specimens. Fundamental life-cycle parameters remain unknown for many species; techniques developed for neritic species that could potentially be applied to deep-sea cephalopods are discussed. Reproductive tactics and strategies in deep-sea cephalopods are very diverse and call for comparative evolutionary and experimental studies, but even in the twenty-first century, mature individuals are still unknown for many species. New insights into diet and trophic position have begun to reveal a more diverse range of feeding strategies than the typically voracious predatory lifestyle known for many cephalopods. Regular standardized deep-sea cephalopod surveys are necessary to provide insight into temporal changes in oceanic cephalopod populations and to forecast, verify and monitor the impacts of global marine changes and human impacts on these populations.

TL;DR: The focus of the first part of this two-part review is to summarise the physiology of HRV and to describe available technologies for HRV monitoring and to present HRV measures for assessing CV prognosis and athletic training.
Abstract: The autonomic nervous system plays a major role in optimising function of the cardiovascular (CV) system, which in turn has important implications for CV health Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measurable reflection of this balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic tone and has been used as a marker for cardiac status and predicting CV outcomes Recently, the availability of commercially available heart rate (HR) monitoring systems has had important CV health implications and permits ambulatory CV monitoring on a scale not achievable with traditional cardiac diagnostics The focus of the first part of this two-part review is to summarise the physiology of HRV and to describe available technologies for HRV monitoring Part two will present HRV measures for assessing CV prognosis and athletic training

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors found that North Korea's most recent series of nuclear tests led to divergent perceptions among different groups of Chinese tourists, border residents, and tour operators as to whether North Korea remains a safe destination for Chinese tourists to visit.
Abstract: North Korea's 2016, and subsequent 2017, nuclear tests have triggered a series of new security crises in the region. This study attempts to understand how experienced Chinese tourists respond to such destination crises by examining changes in their perceived destination image of North Korea and their intention to revisit the country following the January 2016 nuclear tests. Built upon 32 semistructured interviews, the study's findings suggest that North Korea's most recent series of nuclear tests led to divergent perceptions among different groups of Chinese tourists, border residents, and tour operators as to whether North Korea remains a safe destination for Chinese tourists to visit. While the nuclear crisis has largely contributed to Chinese tourists’ negative destination image of North Korea, it does not necessarily scare them away. Results show that some Chinese tourists see North Korea as an even more ‘mysterious’ country after the recent crisis, a response that has actually stimulated their intention to revisit the country.

TL;DR: Self-reported perception of crowding appears the best measure and ECI the worst Regardless of the index used, crowding remains an important problem for Pacific people despite recent initiatives within New Zealand.
Abstract: Aims: Pacific peoples (mostly of Samoan, Tongan, Niuean, or Cook Islands origin) have a higher proportion of reported household crowding than any other ethnic group in New Zealand. However, there are multiple ways crowding can be measured. This paper reports the prevalence and concordance of Pacific peoples' own perception of household crowding together with three commonly employed indices, the American Crowding Index (ACI), Canadian National Occupancy Standard (CNOS), and Equivalised Crowding Index (ECI). Methods: A cohort of Pacific infants born during 2000 in Auckland was followed. Maternal home interviews were conducted at 6-weeks, 12-months, and 24-months postpartum. Household membership information was obtained from the 12-month interviews. Agreement was assessed using the κ statistic. Results: In total, 1224 mothers completed the 12-month interview. Overall, 30% of mothers perceived crowding to be an issue for their households. Crowding was indicated by ACI for 37%, by CNOS for 32%, and by ECI for 59% of households. Agreement between measures ranged from poor (κ=0.36) to moderate (κ=0.61). In regression analyses, self-reported perception of crowding had better validity than ACI, CNOS, or ECI indices. Conclusion: Estimated household crowding prevalence depends on the index used. Self-reported perception of crowding appears the best measure and ECI the worst. Regardless of the index used, crowding remains an important problem for Pacific people despite recent initiatives within New Zealand.

TL;DR: This paper investigated the link between perceptions of negative workplace relationships and organisational outcomes and found that those with at least one negative relationship at work were significantly less satisfied, reported less organisational commitment, were part of less cohesive workgroups and were significantly more likely to be planning to leave their job.
Abstract: This study investigates the link between perceptions of negative workplace relationships and organisational outcomes. Respondents (n = 412) spanned a wide range of occupations, industries and nationalities. Data were collected using an Internet-based questionnaire. Results indicated that those with at least one negative relationship at work were significantly less satisfied, reported less organisational commitment, were part of less cohesive workgroups and were significantly more likely to be planning to leave their job.
