TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the long-term (six-month, one-year, two-year and three-year) returns of IPOs listed on the Bursa Malaysia (BM) in order to provide a more recent case of performance of IPO in Malaysia.
Abstract: This paper investigates long-term (six-month, one-year, two-year, and three-year) returns of IPOs listed on the Bursa Malaysia (BM) in order to provide a more recent case of performance of IPOs in Malaysia. A total number of 166 firms listed and traded on the Bursa Malaysia (BM) for a period of three years starting from 2004 to 2007 were thoroughly analyzed in this paper. The findings of this paper shows that the average marketadjusted return for the six-month, one-year, two-year, and three-year after listing are -5.2%, -10.8%, -21.4%, and -32.8%, though they are not statistically significant. The regression models for the six-month return consist of market volatilities, book value to market value ratio, underwriter reputation, operating history of a company prior to going public, gross proceeds, total assets of a company prior to going public or size variable, hot or cold market period, industries, and first-day returns as an additional independent variable. The models for the long-term returns (one-year, two-year, and three-year) consist of first-day return, market volatilities, book value to market value ratio, underwriter reputation, gross proceeds, and total assets of a company prior to going public. The investigation of long-term return unveils that first-day return, size, and market volatility are three determinants of the one-year return. These three variables along with book value to market value ratio are predictors of two-year return. Last but not least, three-year return is influenced by first-day return, book value to market value ratio, and gross proceeds.

TL;DR: The results of a qualitative study using structured interviews to investigate lecturer and student experiences and perceptions on teaching and learning Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm via mobile devices show that the lecturers and students raised many issues about interactivity and the flexibility of effective learning applications on small screen devices, especially for a technical subject.
Abstract: In recent years, many studies have been carried out on how to engage and support students in e-learning environments Portable devices such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), Tablet PCs, mobile phones and other mobile equipment have been used as parts of electronic learning environments to facilitate learning and teaching for both lecturers and students However, there is still a dearth of study investigating the effects of small screen interfaces on mobile-based learning environments This study aims to address two objectives: (i) investigate lecturer and student difficulties encountered in teaching-learning process in traditional face-to-face classroom settings, and (ii) to explore lecturer and student perceptions about learning the subject through mobile devices This paper presents the results of a qualitative study using structured interviews to investigate lecturer and student experiences and perceptions on teaching and learning Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm via mobile devices The interview insights were then used as inputs to define user requirements for a mobile learning prototype The findings show that the lecturers and students raised many issues about interactivity and the flexibility of effective learning applications on small screen devices, especially for a technical subject

TL;DR: In this paper, the mediating effect understanding of trust on service quality and customer loyalty relationship in Malaysia rural tourism was examined, and it was shown that customer satisfaction enhances trust in rural tourism.
Abstract: This study aims to examine the mediating effect understanding of trust on service quality and customer loyalty relationship in Malaysia rural tourism The model was developed and later tested by adopting the Partial Least Square (PLS) procedure on data collected from a survey that yielded 295 usable questionnaires The findings showed that customer satisfaction enhances trust in Malaysia rural tourism It was also revealed that trust partially mediates the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty In future more research needs to be carried out to explore the role of trust in Malaysia rural tourism industry It is important to do the study utilizing experimental design by capturing longitudinal data in Malaysia rural tourism industry using robust measures The findings imply that the relationship between trust and profitability may dwell in trust’s influence on customer loyalty, and that trust plays a crucial function within the Malaysia rural tourism industry This research is one of the first known attempts to use PLS to test a mediation effect

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used Partial Least Square (PLS) procedure on data collected from a survey that yielded 295 usable questionnaires and found that service quality, customer satisfaction and trust have significant and positive influence on customer loyalty.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to develop a direct effect understanding of service quality, customer satisfaction and trust on customer loyalty in Malaysia rural tourism. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) used to analyze the casual relationships between independent variables and dependent variable. The model was developed and later tested by adopting the Partial Least Square (PLS) procedure on data collected from a survey that yielded 295 usable questionnaires. The findings showed that service quality, customer satisfaction and trust have significant and positive influence on customer loyalty in Malaysia rural tourism. It is important to do the study utilizing experimental design by capturing longitudinal data in Malaysia rural tourism industry using robust measures. The findings imply that the relationship of service quality, satisfaction and trust on customer loyalty will lead to rural tourism operators’ profitability. This research is one of the first known attempts to use PLS to test a direct effect.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the factors that have brought success to the learning management system (LMS) and examine the relationship between students' outcomes (Perceived Usefulness) and information quality, for online learning through system use and user satisfaction.
Abstract: In the last few years, there has been an increase in the number of e-learning systems being added into the educational processes One of them is the Learning management system (LMS), an educational program that is based on web technology The programs in this system provide support to instructors to achieve their pedagogical goals, organize course contents that in turn support students’ learning process The aim of this study is to investigate the factors that have brought success to the learning management system The study examines the relationship between students’ outcomes (Perceived Usefulness) and information quality, for online learning through system use and user satisfaction The respondents chosen for this study are undergraduate students from Limkokwing University in Malaysia The number of respondents selected as sample of this study is based on the number of students in each faculty The quantitative data are obtained from a survey using questionnaires The analysis of the available data indicated that all relationships from independent variables to mediating variables and from mediating variables to dependent variable are significant, the most influential path was information quality user satisfaction perceived usefulness
