TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of biodiesel in automobiles, with special emphasis on emission aspects, was evaluated on both conventional and CRDI engines, though literature on the latter are few and insufficient when compared to the former.
Abstract: Biodiesel is a renewable, nontoxic, eco-friendly and sustainable alternative fuel for compression ignition engines. In spite of having some application problems, biodiesel, in recent times, being considered as one of the most promising alternative fuels in internal combustion engine. It has been proven that the pollutants in the vehicular emissions have significant impacts on the ecological systems and on the health of human beings. Thus there is an increasing demand on tightening the emission standards of motor vehicles, as well as an ever increasing need for developing means of reducing emissions from in service motor vehicles. Biofuel, such as alcohol and biodiesel, could partly replace petroleum fuel, reduce toxic emissions and more importantly restrain the life-cycle emission of CO. In the present paper, earlier studies have been collected and analyzed. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the feasibility of biodiesel in automobiles, with special emphasis on emission aspects. Few aspects on durability and performance are also included. Evaluation is done on both conventional and CRDI engines, though literature on the latter are few and insufficient when compared to the former. Biodiesel use, when compared to diesel as a fuel, in conventional diesel engines with little or no modification leads to the substantial reduction in particulate matter (PM), hydro carbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions. This is accompanied by a light power loss, increase in fuel consumption and an increase in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission.

TL;DR: Simulation and security analysis confirm that the proposed image encryption scheme demonstrates extraordinary performance in terms of security.
Abstract: The third party misuse and manipulation of digital images is a threat to security and privacy of human subjects. The requirements to fulfil the security needs of digital images have led to the development of good encryption techniques. The proposed method of encryption scheme combines the techniques of chaotic image encryption and DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) sequence operations. The encryption mechanism is applied separately on three channels (R, G and B) of the colour image with a suitable chaotic map. The map selection algorithm selects a good chaotic map based on image properties and other parameters. A method of DNA encoding is also applied after chaotic encryption. A new Mandelbrot Set based conditional shift algorithm is introduced to apply confusion effectively on R, G and B channels. Simulation and security analysis confirm that the proposed image encryption scheme demonstrates extraordinary performance in terms of security.

TL;DR: An effective cryptosystem aimed at securing the transmission of medical images in an Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) environment is reported, indicating high security and can be effectively incorporated in an IoHT framework for secure medical image transmission.
Abstract: In this paper, we report an effective cryptosystem aimed at securing the transmission of medical images in an Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) environment. This contribution investigates the dynamics of a 2-D trigonometric map designed using some well-known maps: Logistic-sine-cosine maps. Stability analysis reveals that the map has an infinite number of solutions. Lyapunov exponent, bifurcation diagram, and phase portrait are used to demonstrate the complex dynamic of the map. The sequences of the map are utilized to construct a robust cryptosystem. First, three sets of key streams are generated from the newly designed trigonometric map and are used jointly with the image components (R, G, B) for hamming distance calculation. The output distance-vector, corresponding to each component, is then Bit-XORed with each of the key streams. The output is saved for further processing. The decomposed components are again Bit-XORed with key streams to produce an output, which is then fed into the conditional shift algorithm. The Mandelbrot Set is used as the input to the conditional shift algorithm so that the algorithm efficiently applies confusion operation (complete shuffling of pixels). The resultant shuffled vectors are then Bit-XORed (Diffusion) with the saved outputs from the early stage, and eventually, the image vectors are combined to produce the encrypted image. Performance analyses of the proposed cryptosystem indicate high security and can be effectively incorporated in an IoHT framework for secure medical image transmission.
