Abstract: An intelligent wheelchair prototype is presented, reusing old damaged equipment and incorporating low cost elements for repowering it. The system can be operated in manual mode (total user control) and semi-automatic depending on tasks to be performed and whether other secondary tasks are carried out (answering questions or picking up objects) as simulated in this experiment. When manual mode is executed, a coherence algorithm has been incorporated that allows the wheelchair to be guided with the eye movement and in the semi-automatic mode, system takes control when user do not execute a control action when an obstacle is about to crash with the chair. For a greater interaction between system and user, a basic, friendly and easy-to-use interface has been developed that empowers the performance of activities throughout this experiment. Participants selection, as well as the experimental tests performed are described in this document. The qualitative and quantitative results obtained allow to validate the efficiency of this system, as well as the satisfaction of the users through the respective tests.

Abstract: RESUMEN Una amplia literatura cientifica ha abordado el problema de la distribucion espacial de plantas industriales completamente nuevas Sin embargo, no se ha prestado suficiente atencion al problema de la redistribucion de instalaciones ya existentes Las escasas investigaciones que evaluan el layout, en su mayoria, aplican metodos que solo tienen sentido si se comparan varias alternativas En consecuencia, no son de utilidad para evaluar el desempeno del layout actual de una planta industrial y no permiten diagnosticar la necesidad de una redistribucion Frente a esto, este trabajo presenta un indicador que permite evaluar el desempeno de una distribucion espacial existente, identificando su posicionamiento entre el escenario ideal y el anti-ideal De tal forma, permite sustentar la pertinencia o irrelevancia de una redistribucion El indicador fue aplicado en el caso practico de una empresa del sector metalmecanico de la ciudad de Guayaquil

Abstract: This work presents a model of optimal dimensioning of electrical distribution networks that uses real scenarios, georeferenced and contrasted by simulation processes that analyze the deployment and variables within the planning of electrical networks. This model considers a stochastic load demand and the voltage levels of the electrical distribution network. Moreover, this work exposes the sizing of the radial electrical network, the possible conditions to avoid a load imbalance and in this way, to prevent a system failure.
