TL;DR: This paper focuses on assessing the performance of an equivalent framed model, built from beam–column elements with concentrated plasticity at the ends, to simulate the in-plane seismic response of irregular masonry macro-elements of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, Chile.
Abstract: The seismic assessment of heritage structures with complex architecture, such as masonry churches, remains a challenging task. In most cases, an accurate and reliable assessment of this type of constructions requires computationally expensive nonlinear analyses. Due to this, simplified models, with an optimal compromise between accuracy and computational burden, continue to be necessary. This paper focuses on assessing the performance of an equivalent framed model, built from beam–column elements with concentrated plasticity at the ends, to simulate the in-plane seismic response of irregular masonry macro-elements. The case under study is the nave macro-element of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, Chile. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated by comparing its results with the results of a previously generated model based on the rigid body spring model, considering both static and dynamic analysis. The proposed model, which is generated in the open source software OpenSees, shows that can satisfactorily reproduce the macro-element’s state of deterioration for different seismic intensities.

TL;DR: In this article, the theory of constraints was applied in order to implement a CAD-CAM system into the metal mechanic industry processes of polymers injection and blown-of-polymers polymers.
Abstract: In the following project, the theory of constraints was applied in order to implement a manufacture CAD-CAM system into the metal mechanic industry processes of polymers injection and blown of polymers. The research showed that the manufacture of the mold with the engraving took 223,17 hours. In the workflow for the manufacture of the mold, a restriction was found in the outsource service of CNC. It took 120 hours of the whole process and represent the 51,47 % the total time of tooling manufacturing. There is also a constraint found in the design time. It was 60 hours that corresponds to 26,88 % of the overall time. In order to reduce the time, a modern system of design in 3D and CAM was established to improve the model process of design and manufacture. A simulation by computational resource was applied to the plastic. The design was changed from 2D to 3D. The implementation was focused in the design. A software was installed to improve the speed of modeling methods with reliable information. In the manufacture of molds, a new CNC machine was acquired with three simultaneous axes to eliminate the outsource service. By acquiring the design system, the working time was diminished in 79% and regarding to the CNC process, the working time was improved in 88%.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identified 21 wound healing proteins strongly linked with solid tumors by integrated TCGA Pan-Cancer and multi-omics analyses, and these proteins were associated with eight of the ten described cancer hallmarks, especially avoiding immune destruction.
Abstract: Wound healing (WH) and cancer seem to share common cellular and molecular processes that could work in a tight balance to maintain tissue homeostasis or, when unregulated, drive tumor progression. The "Cancer Hallmarks" comprise crucial biological properties that mediate the advancement of the disease and affect patient prognosis. These hallmarks have been proposed to overlap with essential features of the WH process. However, common hallmarks and proteins actively participating in both processes have yet to be described. In this work we identify 21 WH proteins strongly linked with solid tumors by integrated TCGA Pan-Cancer and multi-omics analyses. These proteins were associated with eight of the ten described cancer hallmarks, especially avoiding immune destruction. These results show that WH and cancer's common proteins are involved in the microenvironment modification of solid tissues and immune system regulation. This set of proteins, between WH and cancer, could represent key targets for developing therapies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a facial recognition system was implemented on the Raspberry Pi 3, with the help of the Tensorflow, Numpy and OpenCV libraries, the results obtained in this study were favorable after an evaluation based on the data of 10 people.
EnglishThis project details the development of a facial recognition system and the sending of alerts by email email. To carry it out, the TensorFlow, Numpy and OpenCV library was used. Also, a Pi V2 camera and a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. the libraries in charge of aligning the faces of the people to be detected and then using these “aligned” faces to train the neural network that was used in the application are TensorFlow and Numpy. OpenCV to initiate the capture of video and detectionof objects in real time on the environment of a Raspberry Pi 3, in charge of processing and storing the database with the photos of the faces. Alerts are sent by email (email) for each undetected face and lighting a red LED. This facial recognition systemwas implemented with the aim of detecting faces that are not found in the database. The authentication system was carried out on the Raspberry Pi 3, with the help of the TensorFlow, Numpy and OpenCV libraries, the results obtained in this study were favorable after an evaluation based on the data of 10 people. This system works perfectly with the database, it studies, learns the captured faces and compares them with those stored in the database; and will alert when it detects a face not found
