Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical and experimental analysis of the properties of an n + -p-n + transistor-like structure called Transcell is presented, which enables us to design optimum metallization grid patterns which reduce the effect of the series resistance to acceptable levels.

TL;DR: In this article, the short-circuit current, opencircuit voltage and connection losses of arrays of solar cells, either for normal or concentrated sunlight, were analyzed under either series of parallel connection.

TL;DR: This work analyzes a two-stage concentrator in which the first stage is reflective and the second stage considers the first one as a Lambertian source in order to obtain the highest possible gain.
Abstract: In this work we analyze a two-stage concentrator in which the first stage is reflective and the second stage considers the first one as a Lambertian source in order to obtain the highest possible gain. We determine the profile and the position of this first stage, which happens to be a parabola, and we calculate the value of the gain as a function of the acceptance angle and the focal length of the first stage.

TL;DR: The full‐grown larvae of Rh.
Abstract: The full‐grown larvae of Rh. (Pararhyacophila) lusitanica, munda, pulchra and terpsichore are described and illustrated. According to the results, the authors consider that the use of larval morphological characters would require some corrections to Schmid's vulgaris group phylogenetic tree. The paper finishes with a key to the larvae of the species of Pararhyacophila so far known from the Iberian peninsula.

TL;DR: In this paper, high-low junctions of n+-p-p+ bifacial back surface field solar cells have been fabricated by B11+ implantation, and an optimum surface concentration of 5 × 1019 cm?3 is observed.
Abstract: High-low junctions of n+-p-p+ bifacial back surface field solar cells have been fabricated by B11+ implantation. After an isothermal annealing step at 900°C for 10 min, an optimum surface concentration of 5 × 1019 cm?3 is observed. Its origin is found to lie in the partial electrical activation of the implanted impurities.

TL;DR: In this paper, a coaxial cavity is used as a transducer which relates linearly relative changes in gauge length to relative change in resonant frequency, and an accompanying instrument that automatically measures and displays the resonant frequencies of the cavity with sufficient accuracy has also been constructed.
Abstract: Difficulties with conventional extensometers have led to the development of a new experimental technique to study the behaviour of pre-stressed concrete at cryogenic temperatures. A specially designed coaxial cavity is used as a transducer which relates linearly relative changes in gauge length to relative changes in resonant frequency. An accompanying instrument that automatically measures and displays the resonant frequency of the cavity with sufficient accuracy has also been constructed. This technique has potential applications in more conventional, room temperature civil engineering measurements.

TL;DR: A careful analysis of a classical filter configuration with large stopbands is made and an understanding of the structure behaviour is gained that allows design on safe grounds.
Abstract: A careful analysis of a classical filter configuration with large stopbands is made. An understanding of the structure behaviour is gained that allows design on safe grounds. A 1.3 GHz microstrip prototype using parallel-coupled-lines inverters is presented. Design equations for this type of inverter are also given.
