30 Oct 2006TL;DR: In this article, a gas cushion is inflated by a gas provoked from a gas generator fixed on the case, and a control element, e.g. guard strip, is engaged on the gas cushion and connects a rear envelope and a front envelope of the cushion.
Abstract: The device (1) has a gas cushion (10) housed in a case (14) and inflated when activated by a gas provoked from a gas generator fixed on the case. A control element (18) e.g. guard strip, is engaged on the gas cushion and connects a rear envelope and a front envelope of the gas cushion. The control element forces the cushion to extend in the shape of arc from the case until a free output end (17) of the cushion when the cushion is in a deployed state.

12 Nov 1998TL;DR: In this article, the first layer is made of a harder material that the second one, and is placed adjacent to the airbag, and the tear-off line of the second layer may at least partially correspond to the tearoff line in the first.
Abstract: The outlet cover (1) is multilayered, and only in its first layer it has a complete tear-off line (2) which is formed as breaking point. The second layer has a tear-off line (3) which is shorter than the tear-off line of the first layer. The tear-off line (3) of the second layer may at least partially correspond to the tear-off line (2) in the first layer. The first layer is made of a harder material that the second one, and is placed adjacent to the airbag.

13 Jul 2012TL;DR: A yoke assembly adapted for use in a rack and pinion steering gear assembly for a vehicle comprises a yoke housing having a bore, a yoking bearing disposed in the bore, an automatic-adjusting mechanism secured in the yoke cover, and an automatic self adjusting mechanism that includes a member which is configured to self adjust and move in a direction toward the Yoke bearing so as to maintain the member in constant contact with the bearing.
Abstract: A yoke assembly adapted for use in a rack and pinion steering gear assembly for a vehicle comprises a yoke housing having a bore; a yoke bearing disposed in the bore; a yoke cover secured in the bore; a spring disposed in the bore between the yoke bearing and the yoke cover; and an automatic-adjusting mechanism secured in the yoke cover. The automatic-self adjusting mechanism includes a member which is configured to self adjust and move in a direction toward the yoke bearing so as to maintain the member in constant contact against the yoke bearing as associated components of the rack and pinion steering gear wear.

02 Oct 2000TL;DR: In this paper, a method for switching several electric circuits in a vehicle is described, where several positions of an actuating element are binarily coded, the binary codification is fed to a logic and the logic controls the switching of the electric circuits.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for switching several electric circuits in a vehicle, wherein several positions of an actuating element are binarily coded, the binary codification is fed to a logic and the logic controls the switching of the electric circuits, and also a corresponding switch with an actuating element and a switching device for attaining several switching modes, depending upon the position of the actuating element, wherein the switching device is constructed of several switching elements with two switching modes each, so that there results a binary codification of the switching modes of all switching elements, depending upon the position of the actuating element in order to switch the electric circuits by means of a logic.

07 May 2013TL;DR: In this paper, an airbag package for an occupant restraining system of a motor vehicle, comprising a folded airbag and free spaces formed between the material of the airbag, was presented.
Abstract: The invention relates to an airbag package (1) for an occupant restraining system of a motor vehicle, comprising a folded airbag (2) and free spaces formed between the material of the airbag. The airbag package (1) has an actual package volume V real which is composed of the airbag volume V bag of the airbag (2) and the free space volume V free of the free spaces. The invention is characterized in that the ratio V real /V bag between the package volume V real and the airbag volume V bag is 3.2 at most. The invention further relates to an occupant restraining system with such an airbag package and to a method for producing an airbag package.
