TL;DR: In this paper, the air outlet has regulating devices for output direction and volume flow, which control the output direction by translational displacement and the volume flow by rotation round its axis.
Abstract: The air outlet has regulating devices for output direction and volume flow. these have a unified operating element (12). it controls the output direction by translational displacement and the volume flow by rotation round its axis. The operating element is connected to a setting drive (26) by a cardan shaft (24). The drive operates an air flap.

TL;DR: In this paper, a control unit is embodied in such a way that, on reception of a signal representing a required action from the input device, it makes use of the relational database filed in the memory to assign the action to a unit that can realise that action, and sends a control signal to the allocated unit by means of which the realisation of the required action by the allocated units is initiated.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device that facilitates the control of units forming part of the equipment of a vehicle. The device comprises an input device for the purpose of inputting actions (such as communication, entertainment, . . . ) that are part of a set of pre-determined actions that can be realised by at least one of the units, and to transform the inputs into a signal representing the action, a memory in which is filed a relational database in which each action from the set is allocated to at least one unit that can realise that action, and a control unit that is connected to the input device, the memory and the units. The control unit is embodied in such a way that, on reception of a signal representing a required action from the input device, it makes use of the relational database filed in the memory to assign the action to a unit that can realise that action, and to send a control signal to the allocated unit by means of which the realisation of the required action by the allocated unit is initiated. In contrast to previous unit-orientated menu structures in centralised unit control systems, a convenient and simplified control procedure of units located within a vehicle is now made possible, since there is no longer any need for the user to be informed about the individual units and their functions. The invention also relates to a procedure to facilitate the control of units forming part of the equipment of a vehicle.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a gas bag for vehicles, having in an inflated state a lower cushion portion and an upper cushion portion adapted for restraining a vehicle occupant, and a dividing portion formed by wall portions of the gas bag extending into the interior of the vehicle in a direction away from the cushion portions.
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas bag (10) for vehicles, having in an inflated state a lower cushion portion (22) and an upper cushion portion (20) adapted for restraining a vehicle occupant (16), and a dividing portion (24) between the cushion portions (20, 22) which is formed by wall portions of the gas bag (10) extending into the interior of the gas bag (10) in a direction away from the cushion portions (20, 22).

TL;DR: An automotive seat belt anchorage point (10) secures the belt stub (16) to a buckle (12), secured to the floor pan by a bolt (18) with a spring tab washer (22) as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An automotive seat belt anchorage point (10) secures the belt stub (16) to a buckle (12). The stub is secured to the floor pan by a bolt (18) with a spring tab washer (22). The stub has a side-extension with an aperture. The spring washer has an angled tab (30, 38) that engages with the stub (16) and prevents stub movement.

TL;DR: In this paper, a spring expander for oil control piston ring incorporates two spring mechanisms, one radially acting spring mechanism and a second radially spaced spring fingers, which radially deflect.
Abstract: A spring expander (10) for oil control piston ring incorporates two spring mechanisms One spring mechanism (11, 12a, 12b,) produces circumferentially directed hoop stress in the expander body when the expander body itself is contracted A second radially acting spring mechanism (31a, 31b) is provided by circumferentially spaced spring fingers (31a, 31b) which radially deflect Because the two spring mechanisms act together, the expander has a combined spring rate which is lower than the spring rate of either the circumferential spring mechanism or the spring rate of the radial spring mechanism The expander also has expansion stops (39) which limit the radial expansion of the spring fingers, and thereby limit the expansion of the associated rail ring to reduce pop-out during assembly Contraction stops (17, 18) limit radial contraction of the rail ring with respect to the expander and maintain a clearance between the expander and the cylinder wall
