TL;DR: The genome of ST2249-MRSA-III is characterized to establish its relationship to other MRSA clones and indicates that it inherited approximately 35.3% of its chromosome from an ST239- like parent and 64.7% from anST45-like parent.

TL;DR: In this article, the dimensional, mechanical and thermophysiological properties of four fabrics procured from different sources were thoroughly studied and compared, aimed at the determination of their suitability to be utilised for the management of hypertrophic scarring.
Abstract: Compression therapy is the universally accepted treatment for the management of hypertrophic scarring after severe burns. A review of the type of treatments for burns and type of compression garments commercially available is discussed in Part 1 of this paper (Anand, Kanchi Govarthanam, & Gazioglu, in press). A refined model was also designed to predict the sub-garment pressure more accurately, irrespective of the shape and size of the limb (see Part 1, in press). The thermophysiological properties of the compression garment provide comfort by preserving body temperature and moisture output close to their normal levels. In this study, the dimensional, mechanical and thermophysiological properties of four fabrics procured from different sources were thoroughly studied and compared. The study was aimed at the determination of their suitability to be utilised for the management of hypertrophic scarring. It was established that one of the fabrics investigated possessed superior properties in comparison to the...

TL;DR: It is concluded that there is no evidence that high visitor numbers result in increased woundings in these two species when housed in zoos.
Abstract: Chimpanzees in laboratory colonies experience more wounds on weekdays than on weekends, which has been attributed to the increased number of people present during the week; thus, the presence of more people was interpreted as stressful. If this were also true for primates in zoos, where high human presence is a regular feature, this would clearly be of concern. Here we examine wounding rates in two primate species (chimpanzees Pan troglodytes and ring-tailed lemurs Lemur catta) at three different zoos, to determine whether they correlate with mean number of visitors to the zoo. Wounding data were obtained from a zoo electronic record keeping system (ZIMS™). The pattern of wounds did not correlate with mean gate numbers for those days for either species in any group. We conclude that there is no evidence that high visitor numbers result in increased woundings in these two species when housed in zoos. Zoo Biol. 35:205–209, 2016. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the children's views about the level of care and attention which the teachers paid to issues relating to behaviour and the social organisation of their school and found that the childrens views are a good indicator of the frequency of bullying that will be found in that school.
Abstract: It is known that the incidence of bullying reported by primary school children varies greatly between schools. It has also been shown that schools in which staff express a greater level of concern with managing the problem generally experience lower levels of bullying. This study examines the children’s, rather than the teachers’, views about the level of care and attention which the teachers pay to issues relating to behaviour and the social organisation of their school. It is shown that the children’s views are a good indicator of the frequency of bullying that will be found in that school.
