TL;DR: Histological evidence revealed direct differentiation of buds from cotyledons and unorganized callus could not be induced to differentiate shoot buds and Regenerated plants were normal diploids.
Abstract: Leaf, stem, hypocotyl, cotyledon, root, shoot tip and embryo explants of Capsicum annuum L. cv. mathania were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) or kinetin (Kin) alone or in combination with 3-indoleacetic acid (IAA), 3-indolebutyric acid (IBA), α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) or 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). BAP (5.0 mgl−1) in the medium was found to be the best growth regulator for shoot bud differentiation. Shoot buds cultured on 5.0 mgl−1 BAP increased in number but did not elongate. For obtaining complete plantlets, shoot buds were placed on a medium with IBA or NAA (0.1 mgl−1). Histological evidence revealed direct differentiation of buds from cotyledons. Regenerated plants were normal diploids. Unorganized callus could not be induced to differentiate shoot buds.

TL;DR: In this paper, substitution reactions of arsenic (III) and antimony(III) acetates with alkylene dithiophosphoric acids in stoichiometric ratios yield mixed complexes, M(OAc)3-x(S2 )x where M = As or Sb, x = 1 or 2 and G = CH2CMe2CH2, CH2CEt2CH 2, CMe2CME2, and CHMeCHMe 2.
Abstract: Replacement reactions of arsenic(III) and antimony(III) acetates with alkylene dithiophosphoric acids in stoichiometric ratios yield mixed complexes, M(OAc)3–x(S2 )x where M = As or Sb, x = 1 or 2 and G = –CH2CMe2CH2–,–CH2CEt2CH2–, –CMe2CMe2–, and –CHMeCHMe–). These derivatives are hydrolizable, yellow/orange powders with varying solubilities in organic solvents. IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) studies indicate bi- arid uni-dentate behaviour of dithiophosphate and acetate moieties, respectively, in these complexes.

TL;DR: A theoretical analysis of acoustic-like modes in a plasma consisting of two kinds of ions with different temperatures has been performed using fluid equations as mentioned in this paper, where the electrons are assumed to form a dynamic neutralizing background, and their perturbation has been neglected.
Abstract: A theoretical analysis of acoustic-like modes in a plasma consisting of two kinds of ions with different temperatures has been performed using fluid equations. The electrons are assumed to form a dynamic neutralizing background, and their perturbation has been neglected – which is permissible for k 2 λ 2 De ≫ 1. The analysis shows that an acoustic-like mode appears to propagate as a normal mode when the hotter ion concentration is very large compared with that of the colder ions.

TL;DR: A few bimetallic alkoxides of the types [MSn(OR)3], [Sb(Sn(Or)3)3] and [Pb(Sb-OR)4)2] have been prepared and characterized as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A few bimetallic alkoxides of the types [MSn(OR)3], [Sb(Sn(OR)3)3] and [Pb(Sb(OR)4)2] [M = Na, K, R = CH3, C2H7, n and i-C3H7, n and i-C4H9 and i-C5H11] have been prepared and characterized. These are generally coloured solids or viscous liquids. These are monomeric and covalent in nature and are hydrolytically unstable to atmospheric moisture. IR, 1H and 13C and 119Sn NMR studies suggest 3-coordination around tin in these derivatives.

Abstract: A cylindrically symmetric inhomogeneous cosmological model with electromagnetic field for perfect fluid distributions is obtained. To get a determinate solution, a supplementary conditionA=(BC) n between metric potentials is used whereA, B, andC are functions of bothx andt andn is a constant. Some physical and geometrical properties of the model and behavior of electromagnetic field tensors are also discussed.

TL;DR: It appears that the mice probably developed some resistance to the pesticide, when exposed for such a long duration, after being exposed to phosphamidon for 60 days prior to mating and during gestation.
Abstract: Phosphamidon, an organophosphate pesticide, is little known for its possible effects on mammalian conceptus. The present investigation was carried out to evaluate its embryotoxic and teratogenic effects on Swiss albino mice. Female mice of similar age and weight were divided into four experimental groups. The animals of groups I and II received 15 and 35 ppm phosphamidon ad libitum, respectively, during the entire gestational period, that is, from days 1 to 18. Groups III and IV were treated before mating with 35 ppm phosphamidon for 30 and 60 days, respectively, and the treatment was continued during pregnancy up to the 18th day. The autopsies were performed on the 18th day of gestation, and routine teratological observations were made. The lower dose did not produce significant effects. The higher dose reduced the number of implants, litter size, and foetal weight and increased the resorption of embryos when administered for 30 days prior to mating. Exposure to the pesticide for 60 days prior to mating and during gestation, however, did not produce significant effects. It appears that the mice probably developed some resistance to the pesticide, when exposed for such a long duration.

TL;DR: In this article, the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of four composite building materials, namely black marble stone, normal building stone, red sand brick and cement brick have been made at room temperature using the transient hot-strip method.
Abstract: Simultaneous measurements of the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of four composite building materials, namely black marble stone, normal building stone, red sand brick and cement brick have been made at room temperature using the transient hot-strip method. The power supplied to these samples is quite large compared with that for loose building materials owing to their composite (brick) nature. The temperature dependence of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of these materials has also been investigated in a temperature range from 10 to 60°C. Temperature stability is assured within 0.1°C by using a platinum resistance thermometer in the chamber containing samples and a digital voltmeter to record any variation in resistance. The results of these experiments show that there is a very slight variation in thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of these materials in this temperature range.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the major element chemistry of the Malani volcanic suite of Precambrian age and found that the trace element abundances of these volcanics point to their crustal source.
Abstract: Felsic volcanics of the Gurapratap Singh and Diri, belong to the Malani volcanic suite of Precambrian age. Major element chemistry of these volcanics shows systematic variations with progress of differentiation. The distribution and behaviour of trace elements in these rocks is in accord with their major element data and the distribution patterns are normal with no anomalous concentrations of the elements studied. With the progress of fractionation there is a smooth decrease in Sr and increase in Rb which along with Ba are the main trace contents of these rocks. Unlike Sr and Rb which have a linear distribution pattern, Ba shows a curvilinear trend, i.e., an initial increase from andesite to dacite and rhyodacite followed by a decrease amongst rhyolites. The behaviour of ratios like Ni/Co, Fe/Zn, Mg/Li and K/Rb agrees with a model of fractional crystallisation. Furthermore, the trace element abundances of the volcanics point to their crustal source. The work also shows that in felsic magmas Ba and Sr are sensitive indicators for tracing possible differentiation and that rhyolitic rocks depleted in Ba are enriched in Rb and that in last stages of differentiation Ba/Rb ratio shows rapid decrease.

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental study has been done to investigate the heat conduction and moisture distribution through the different layers of unsaturated soil, where soil is taken in the form of cylindrical columns in vertical and horizontal positions.
Abstract: An experimental study has been done to investigate the heat conduction and moisture distribution through the different layers of unsaturated soil. The soil is taken in the form of cylindrical columns in vertical and horizontal positions. The two ends of the cylindrical column were maintained at different constant temperature. The effective thermal conductivity was measured by dynamical method after achieving steady state. The distribution of moisture in the soil column was determined by gravimetric technique. The effective thermal conductivity (ETC) has also been predicted by temperature dependent model developed by Singhet al (1988). A close agreement has been found in experimental and predicted values of ETC.

TL;DR: In this article, a 1: 1 molar ratio of diphenylantimony chloride with the sodium salts of O,O-dialkyldithiophosphoric acids in benzene solution yield neutral complexes with the general formula (RO)2PS2SbPh2 (where R = CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7 i-C 3H7 I-C 4H7 N-C4H9 i-c 4H9).
Abstract: Reactions of diphenylantimony chloride with the sodium salts of O,O-dialkyldithiophosphoric acids in 1: 1 molar ratio in benzene solution yield neutral complexes with the general formula (RO)2PS2SbPh2 (where R = CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7 i-C3H7 n-C4H9 i-C4H9). These complexes are monomeric in nature and have been characterized by IR, fH, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The 31P nmr spectral data are consistent with the chelating behaviour of the dithiophosphate moieties.
