TL;DR: This article gives a brief overview of the current knowledge on autoxidation of oil-in-water food emulsions, especially those that contain unsaturated lipids, which are important in the food industry.
Abstract: Unsaturated lipids having various physiological roles are of significance in biochemistry, nutrition, medicine, and food. However, the susceptibility of lipids to oxidation is a major cause of quality deterioration in food emulsions. The reaction mechanism and factors that influence oxidation are appreciably different for emulsified lipids and bulk lipids. This article gives a brief overview of the current knowledge on autoxidation of oil-in-water food emulsions, especially those that contain unsaturated lipids, which are important in the food industry. Autoxidation of unsaturated lipids in oil-in-water emulsion is discussed, and so also their oxidation mechanism, the major factors influencing oxidation, determination measures, research status, and the problems encountered in recent years. Some effective strategies for controlling lipid oxidation in food emulsion have been presented in this review.

TL;DR: The red light spectrum enhanced induction, proliferation, and the carbohydrate contents of PLBs, as well as subsequent plantlet lengths, while the blue spectrum promoted differentiation, protein accumulation, and enzyme activities in PLBs and developing plantlets.
Abstract: The effects of different spectral light distribution on in vitro induction and proliferation of Oncidium protocorm-like bodies (PLBs) and subsequent growth of plantlets were investigated. Shoot tips (5 mm in length) of proliferating shoots of Oncidium “Gower Ramsey” were vertically incubated on 1/2 Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 1.0 mg l−1 6-benzyladenine (BA), and grown under either monochromatic red light-emitting diodes (LEDs) (RR), blue LEDs (BB), yellow LEDs (YY) or green LEDs (GG). Cultures grown under fluorescent lamps (FL) were used as control. Selected FL-induced PLBs were cut into 3- to 4-mm sections and incubated on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg l−1 BA and 0.5 mg l−1 α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), and grown under RR, BB, YY, GG, or FL. Moreover, FL-differented shoots (15 mm in length with two leaves) were incubated on 1/2 MS medium with 0.5 mg l−1 NAA, and grown under either FL, RR, 10% blue + 90% red LEDs (1BR), 20% blue + 80% red LEDs (2BR), 30% blue + 70% red LEDs (3BR), BB, 80% red + 10% blue + 10% far-red LEDs (RBFr), or 80% red + 10% blue + 10% green LEDs (RBG). Overall, the red light spectrum enhanced induction, proliferation, and the carbohydrate contents of PLBs, as well as subsequent plantlet lengths, while the blue spectrum promoted differentiation, protein accumulation, and enzyme activities in PLBs, as well as pigment content accumulation in PLBs and developing plantlets. The combination of red and blue LEDs resulted in higher energy efficiency as well as dry weight and enzyme activities in these plantlets.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of CuO catalysts supported on ZrO 2 -doped TiO 2 (hereafter denoted as TZ) and pure anatase TZ were characterized by HRTEM, XRD, UV-vis DRS, TPR, XPS, and activity test for the removal of NO by CO.
Abstract: CuO catalysts supported on ZrO 2 -doped TiO 2 (hereafter denoted as TZ) and pure anatase TiO 2 were characterized by HRTEM, XRD, UV–vis DRS, TPR, XPS, in situ FT-IR and activity test for the removal of NO by CO. The results indicate that: (1) CuO species can be highly dispersed on the surface of TZ support, and the dispersion capacity (DC) is about 1.1 mmol/100 m 2 TZ, which can be explained by the incorporation model. (2) The reduction temperature of CuO supported on TZ is lower than that supported on pure anatase TiO 2 , ZrO 2 and ZrO 2 surface-modified anatase TiO 2 supports. Furthermore, the activity of Cu-TZ is also the highest among them measured by a relative turn over frequency (TOF) value of NO. (3) The ZrO 2 doping into TiO 2 improves the adsorption stability of NO x (especially the bridged nitrate/nitro) and decreases the active temperature of Cu + –CO species, both of which are the key intermediates for NO conversion. On the other hand, the ZrO 2 doping into TiO 2 promotes the formation of Cu + /Cu 0 species at high temperatures, which has a crucial effect on N 2 O reduction.

TL;DR: In this paper, an orthogonal experiment on the effect of water/cement ratio, water consumption per cubic meter, curing time, and type of sand on the response "resistance to chloride ion penetration" was performed.
Abstract: This paper describes an orthogonal experiment on the effect of water/cement ratio, water consumption per cubic meter, curing time, and type of sand on the response “resistance to chloride ion penetration”. A sea-sand containing concrete was used for the trials. An analysis of chloride ion diffusion coefficients at different factor levels was performed. A predictive model of chloride ion diffusion in concrete is developed through regression analysis. The experimental results show that when the water/cement ratio varies from 0.45 to 0.60, and the water consumption per cubic meter varies from 185 to 215 kg, and the curing time varies from 30 to 180 d then the size of the effects fall in the order (most significant first): curing time, type of sand, water consumption per cubic meter, and water/cement ratio. Chloride ion penetration is reduced, and better durability of the concrete is observed, with longer curing times, less water consumption per cubic meter, and a smaller water/cement ratio.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of loading rates on limestone by using a MTS810 rock mechanics servo-controlled testing system considering the loading rate as a variable were investigated for uniaxial compression.
Abstract: The experimental tests for limestone specimens at 700 °C in uniaxial compression were carried out to investigate the mechanical effects of loading rates on limestone by using a MTS810 rock mechanics servo-controlled testing system considering the loading rate as a variable. The mechanical properties of limestone such as the stress–strain curve, variable characteristics of peak strength and the modulus of elasticity of limestone were studied under the strain rates ranging from 1.1 × 10−5 to 1.1 × 10−1 s−1. (1) Sharp decreases were shown for the peak strength and elastic modulus of limestone from 1.1 × 10−5 to 1.1 × 10−4 s−1 at 700 °C as well as a downward trend was shown from 1.1 × 10−4 to 1.1 × 10−1 s−1 with the rise of the strain rate. (2) The peak strain increased from 1.1 × 10−5 to 1.1 × 10−4 s−1, however, there was no obvious changes shown for the peak strain of limestone from 1.1 × 10−4 to 1.1 × 10−1 s−1. These results can provide valuable references for the rock blasting effect and design of mine.

Abstract: The normalized damage function based on elastic modulus is proposed to evaluate damage for ductile metals under a unified criterion. An equivalent half-sine model is employed to illustrate plastic stress–strain relationship. Toughness indicator is introduced to describe the toughness character in metals. An exponential rule is employed to calculate toughness indicator, and the parameter of toughness indicator is formulated by conventional mechanical properties of metals. Repeated loading–unloading tensile tests are conducted on stainless steel and aluminium alloy. The good correlation coefficient and dispersion are presented between the experimental values and predicted values of damage variable (within 12%). The damage function with toughness indicator can be applied to predict the effective elastic modulus.

TL;DR: In this article, the existence criteria for positive solutions of a general multiple-point Dirichlet-Robin BVP in Banach spaces on time scales with singular sign-changing nonlinearities and higher-order derivatives were established.
Abstract: . In this paper, in order to establish the existence criteria for positive solutions of a multiple-point Dirichlet-Robin BVPs in Banach spaces on time scales, first we prove a fixed point theorem on monotone operators and the Ascoli-Arzela’s theorem on time scales. Then using the monotone operator method, we explore the existence criteria of positive solutions for a general multiple-point Dirichlet-Robin BVPs in Banach spaces on time scales with the singular sign-changing nonlinearities and higher-order derivatives. Finally an example is illustrated to indicate the application of our main results, which generalize some well-known results in the literature.

TL;DR: The simulation results show that the new improved algorithm improves the probability of searching to all extreme points, and has stronger ability of low-dimensional multi-modal function optimization, on the premise that the convergence precision is not affected.
Abstract: In order to overcome the disadvantages that simple genetic algorithm had in low-dimensional and multimodal function optimization, an improved algorithm was proposed. The new algorithm divided the search interval into different areas by method of orthogonal decomposition, produced initial populations that had different individual distribution density by using interval algorithm, and gave each individual an attribute that marked the area which it was in and guaranteed there was more than one individual in each area during the operating process of the algorithm. Particle swarm algorithm was introduced to the mutation operation of genetic algorithm to overcome the shortage of genetic algorithm, that was, the poor search ability in local areas, especially those that had low individual distribution density. When applied to six-hump camel back function and Branin RCOS function optimization, the simulation results show that, under the same experiment condition, in contrast to other improved algorithms, the new one improves the probability of searching to all extreme points, and has stronger ability of low-dimensional multi-modal function optimization, on the premise that the convergence precision is not affected.

TL;DR: A new ontology is built that provides a simple schema that can be used to present a clear overview of network and the relation between sensing elements, which has been shown to be useful for describing heterogeneous networked sensing substrate and be feasible for allocating resources across various test beds.
Abstract: The practical usage of ontology for resource specification is for effective resource control in wireless sensor networks. In order to support geographically and logically distinct resources to be co-scheduled and co-allocated when test beds are federated, we build a new ontology. It provides a simple schema that can be used to present a clear overview of network and the relation between sensing elements. Our ontology has been actively integrated with the common-used control framework. The ontology also provides service abstraction between service providers and users, which defines generalized resource request for users to describe the desired resources on different test beds. It has been shown to be useful for describing heterogeneous networked sensing substrate and be feasible for allocating resources across various test beds.

Abstract: In this paper, we derive a family of new derivative-free third order methods for solving nonlinear equations. In all proposed methods, each member of the family requires three evaluations of the given function and frees from first and second derivatives per iteration. The convergence and error analysis are given. Numerical comparisons are presented and the performance of methods presented here is compared with methods available in the literature. At last, we extend one of new proposed methods to the n-dimensional case and verify its effectiveness. The results show that new methods are effective and have definite practical utility.

TL;DR: In this article, an arbitrary Bell state can be achieved in a two qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XY chain via Lyapunov control, which only needs to apply an external field along a given direction to a single qubit.
Abstract: We demonstrate that an arbitrary Bell state can be achieved in a two qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XY chain via Lyapunov control. During the whole process, we only need to apply an external field along a given direction to a single qubit. This control strategy is effective for all initial states in the four-dimensional Hilbert space where the target state is asymptotically stable. The effects of imperfections on the fidelity for the target state such as Gaussian leakage of local control and localized dephasing of individual spins are also considered.

TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D finite element model (FEM) of multi-track laser remelting temperature field is established, where the effects such as heat conduction, heat radiation, heat convection, phase change and materials highly nonlinearity on coatings and substrate are taken into account comprehensively.
Abstract: In order to acquire evolution law of temperature field of laser remelting plasma sprayed Ni-based gradient coating on Ti6Al4V alloy surface, the effects such as heat conduction, heat radiation, heat convection ,phase change and materials highly non-linearity on coatings and substrate are taken into account comprehensively, and a 3D finite element model(FEM) of multi-tracks laser remelting temperature field is established. The analysis results show that mechanical bonding between coatings and substrate change into metallurgical bonding on present processing parameter, the depth of alloy belt vary in each scanning track and the average depth of alloy belt become deeper gradually with the increment of scanning lines. Temperature changing regular of different points on scanning tracks along scanning direction is similar. Temperature become higher and higher in succeeding scanning tracks due to the heat accumulation effect in laser remelting process. The cooling rate on the mid-points of each scanning track reaches 1200 /s above. The thermal gradient from coatings to substrate along Z direction is absolutely predominant compared with that along X,Y direction, so heat dissipates mainly along the direction normal to substrate which help to crystal grain grown preferentially.

TL;DR: The constructive approach is used to define the intuitionistic fuzzy dominance---based lower and upper approximations, respectively, of the dominance--- based rough set model to fuzzy environment.
Abstract: The dominance---based rough set approach plays an important role in the development of the rough set theory. It can be used to describe the inconsistencies coming from consideration of the preference---ordered domains of the attributes. The purpose of this paper is to further generalize the dominance---based rough set model to fuzzy environment. The constructive approach is used to define the intuitionistic fuzzy dominance---based lower and upper approximations, respectively. Basic properties of the intuitionistic fuzzy dominance---based rough approximations are then examined.
