Isotopic measurement of atmospheric nitrogen compounds

TL;DR: A short review of nitrogen isotope studies as related to atmospheric compounds is presented in this article, where methods utilized for the collection and conversion of various nitrogen containing compounds found in the atmosphere to N2 suitable for mass spectrometric measurement are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rate measurements of reactions of OH by resonance absorption. Part 3.—Reactions of OH with H2, D2 and hydrogen and deuterium halides

TL;DR: In this paper, the rates of the reactions of OH with H2, D2, HCl and DCl have been determined between 210 and 460 K using time-resolved resonance absorption to monitor removal of OH following creation of the radicals by flash photolysis of mixtures containing H2O or N2O + H2.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Photo-Chemistry of Some Minor Constituents of the Earth's Atmosphere (CO2, CO, CH4, N2O)

TL;DR: In this paper, it is estimated that at least ten years is required for the production of the atmospheric abundance, and probably much longer is needed for denitrification of O2 in the Herzberg continuum, since there is an inadequate supply of the requisite parent particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Dissociation of Oxygen in the High Atmosphere

TL;DR: The question of the oxygen distribution in the high atmosphere is examined by studying the departure from photochemical equilibrium as mentioned in this paper, and an investigation of the transition region is made, utilizing recent rocket data on atmospheric transmission in the Schumann-Runge continuum of molecular oxygen.
