Advances in acyclic compartmental ligands and related complexes
TL;DR: In this article, the authors classified symmetric and asymmetric compartmental acyclic Schiff bases and their reduced polyamine analogues according to their synthetic procedures, i.e. the condensation ratio between the formyl (or keto) and amine precursors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and electronic effects on the exchange interactions in dinuclear bis(phenoxo)-bridged copper(II) complexes
TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic properties of dinuclear bis(phenoxo)-bridged CuII complexes were analyzed using density functional theory and a structural analysis revealed the main role played by several structural parameters, such as the Cu-O-Cu bridging angle and the out-of-plane shift of the phenoxo ring.

Insertion of a Hydroxido Bridge into a Diphenoxido Dinuclear Copper(II) Complex: Drastic Change of the Magnetic Property from Strong Antiferromagnetic to Ferromagnetic and Enhancement in the Catecholase Activity
TL;DR: A diphenoxido-bridged dinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu(2)L(2)(ClO(4))(2)] (1), has been synthesized using a tridentate reduced Schiff base ligand, 2-[[2-(diethylamino)ethylamino]methyl]phenol (HL).

Anion-Directed Template Synthesis and Hydrolysis of Mono-Condensed Schiff Base of 1,3-Pentanediamine and o-Hydroxyacetophenone in NiII and CuII Complexes
TL;DR: In this paper, a bischelate complex [NiL2]center dot 2H(2)O (1) of mono-condensed tridentate Schiff base ligand HL {2-[1-(3-aminopentylimino)ethyl]phenol}.

Trinuclear Cu(II) complexes containing peripheral ketonic oxygen bridges and a μ3-OH core: Steric influence on their structures and existence
Biswarup Sarkar,Mau Sinha Ray,Michael G. B. Drew,Albert Figuerola,Carmen Diaz,Ashutosh Ghosh +5 more
TL;DR: Two tridentate Schiff bases, HL1(6-amino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4-azahex-2-en-1one) and HL2(6amino,3,6-dimethyl-1-,4-hexhexhex 2-en1-one) on reaction with copper perchlorate in the presence of triethyl amine yielded two new trinuclear copper(II) complexes, [(CuL1)3(μ3-OH)](ClO4)2) and [(cuL2)

Phase annealing in SHELX-90: direct methods for larger structures
TL;DR: In this article, a phase annealing method, related to the simulated-annealing approach in other optimization problems, is proposed and it is shown that it can result in an improvement of up to an order of magnitude in the chances of solving large structures at atomic resolution.

General definition of ring puckering coordinates
Dieter Cremer,John A. Pople +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a unique mean plane is defined for a general monocyclic puckered ring, which is described by amplitude and phase coordinates which are generalizations of those introduced for cyclopentane by Kilpatrick, Pitzer, and Spitzer.

An empirical method for correcting diffractometer data for absorption effects
N. Walker,David I. Stuart +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a Fourier series in the polar angles of the incident and diffracted beam paths is used to model an absorption surface for the difference between the observed and calculated structure factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of Single-Crystal X-ray Diffraction Data from a Position-Sensitive Detector
TL;DR: In this paper, a Fortran program is developed for the reduction of single-crystal diffraction data from a sequence of adjacent rotation pictures recorded at a fixed X-ray wavelength by an electronic area detector.
