A theoretical study on forming limit diagrams prediction

TLDR
In this article, the authors developed a theoretical study on forming limit diagrams using a new general code for forming limit strains prediction, which consists of the main part and several subroutines, which allow the implementation of any hardening law, yield function, or constitutive equation, changing the respective subroutine.

Advances in anisotropy and formability

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the experimental methods used for characterizing and modeling the anisotropic plastic behavior of metallic sheets and tubes under biaxial loading is presented together with the models and methods developed for predicting and establishing the limit strains.

Experimental and theoretical formability analysis using strain and stress based forming limit diagram for advanced high strength steels

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental and numerical analyses of Forming Limit Diagram (FLD) and FLSD for two Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) sheets grade DP780 and TRIP780 were performed.

Numerical analysis of diffuse and localized necking in orthotropic sheet metals

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffuse and localized necking models according to Swift [Swift, H.W., and Hill [Hill, R., 1952] were applied to different orthotropic sheet metals in order to assess their predictive capabilities and to stress out some potential sources for discrepancies between simulations and experiments.

A simple isotropic-distortional hardening model and its application in elastic-plastic analysis of localized necking in orthotropic sheet metals

TL;DR: In this paper, an elastic-plastic constitutive model including mixed isotropic-distortional hardening is presented, which is very simple and requires only experimental data that are part of the standard characterization of sheet metals.

An experimental and theoretical analysis on the application of stress-based forming limit criterion

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed study on the stress-based forming limit criterion (FLSD) during linear and complex strain paths is developed by applying several combinations of different constitutive equations on the required plastic calculation.

A theory of the yielding and plastic flow of anisotropic metals

TL;DR: In this article, a theory is suggested which describes the yielding and plastic flow of an anisotropic metal on a macroscopic scale and associated relations are then found between the stress and strain-increment tensors.

Limit strains in the processes of stretch-forming sheet metal

TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical analysis of the process of the generation of the groove based on anisotropic plasticity theory is presented, and the system of equations derived was solved numerically with the aid of a computer, which enabled the limiting strain of the sheet metal to be determined as a function of the material.

On discontinuous plastic states, with special reference to localized necking in thin sheets

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the permitted discontinuities of stress, velocity, and surface slope in a plastic-rigid sheet deformed in its plane, and the necessary restrictions on the stress-state and rate of workhardening were obtained for any yield function and plastic potential.

Localized necking in thin sheets

TL;DR: Using a simplified constitutive model of a pointed vertex on subsequent yield loci, the onset of localized necking under biaxial stretching has been predicted and this result supports the hypothesis of vertex-formation on the yield locus under continued plastic flow.

CXXVIII. A theoretical derivation of the plastic properties of a polycrystalline face-centred metal

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the work-hardness of an isotropic aggregate of face-centred cubic crystals is a function only of the total plastic work if the grains hardened equally.
