Signcryption is a new cryptographic primitive which simultaneously provides both confidentiality and authenticity. This paper proposes an improved signcryption scheme and a variant scheme providing message recovery. The first scheme is revised from an authenticated encryption scheme which has been found to have a security-flaw. Our scheme solves the security-flaw and provides an additional property called the public verifiability of the signature. The second scheme is a message recovery type. It surpasses most of the current signcryption schemes on the size of the signcrypted ciphertext. That is, in our second scheme, we require only two parameters, (r, s), with r epsi Zp and s epsi Z q while most signcryption schemes require three parameters (c, r, s) with the additional parameter c epsi Zp. This second scheme is modified from an authenticated encryption scheme with message recovery and surpasses the based authenticated encryption scheme on the property of non-repudiation of the originread more

An Elliptic Curve-based Signcryption Scheme with Forward Secrecy
Mohsen Toorani,Ali A. Beheshti +1 more
TL;DR: An elliptic curve-based signcryption scheme is introduced in this paper that effectively combines the functionalities of digital signature and encryption, and decreases the computational costs and communication overheads in comparison with the traditional signature-then-encryption schemes.

Signcryption method and device and corresponding signcryption verification method and device
TL;DR: In this paper, a signcryption is generated by a sender (110) by using a first encryption algoritm to encrypt plaintext m with public key Epk to get ciphertext e, e=E.

A new efficient publicly verifiable signcryption scheme and its multiple recipients variant for firewalls implementation
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a signcryption scheme that achieves the public verifiability property with keeping the same efficiency as the original scheme, which is based on the intractability of the Discrete Logarithm Problem and the Diffie-Hellman Problem (DHP).

Signcryption schemes based on elliptic curve cryptography
TL;DR: New signcryption schemes based on elliptic curve cryptography provide various desirable security requirements like confidentiality, authenticity, non-repudiation and forward security as well as chosen ciphertext attack and unforgeability.

A New Efficient Multiple Broadcasters Signcryption Scheme (MBSS) for Secure Distributed Networks
TL;DR: This paper proposes a new MBSS which has the following advantages over the first proposed distributed signcryption scheme (FPDSS): There is no need for a group manager who knows all the members private keys in the FPDSS and who may be malicious or may be attacked by an adversary and so causes security threats.

Efficient signature generation by smart cards
TL;DR: An efficient algorithm that preprocesses the exponentiation of a random residue modulo p is presented, which improves the ElGamal signature scheme in the speed of the procedures for the generation and the verification of signatures and also in the bit length of signatures.

Security Arguments for Digital Signatures and Blind Signatures
David Pointcheval,Jacques Stern +1 more
TL;DR: It is proved that a very slight variation of the well-known El Gamal signature scheme resists existential forgeries even against an adaptively chosen-message attack and an appropriate notion of security related to the setting of electronic cash is defined.

Digital Signcryption or How to Achieve Cost(Signature & Encryption) << Cost(Signature) + Cost(Encryption)
TL;DR: Signcryption as discussed by the authors is a new cryptographic primitive which simultaneously fulfills both the functions of digital signature and public key encryption in a logically single step, and with a cost significantly lower than that required by signature-then-encryption.

On the Security of Joint Signature and Encryption
TL;DR: It is shown that gCCA2-security suffices for all known uses of CCA2-secure encryption, while no longer suffering from the definitional shortcomings of the latter.
