Assessing the Land Cover Change of Accra Using Landsat-TM Data
Lasse Møller-Jensen,Poul Yankson +1 more
TL;DR: Moller-Jensen et al. as discussed by the authors presented a land cover map of Accra, Ghana, showing the recent spatial growth in order to assess the nature of this growth and the current spatial development trends.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Lampung - a new handwritten character benchmark: database, labeling and recognition
TL;DR: The aim is to describe this new script with all its peculiarities, propose a labeling scheme to manage a large isolated character dataset and finally a recognition scheme based on water reservoir concept.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A Holistic Method to Recognize Characters in Natural Scenes
TL;DR: The initial contour design in conjunction with cross-correlation based similarity metric enables us to account for rotational variance in the character image and the leave-random-one-out-cross validation yields even better recognition performance, justifying the approach of using holistic character recognition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation of appropriate parameter values for document binarization techniques
E. Badekas,Nikos Papamarkos +1 more
TL;DR: From several experimental results, it is verified that the proposed evaluation technique is successfully applied to different types of document images and shows that the selection of the best binarization technique, obtained by the proposed approach, agrees in most of the cases, with the human perception ability.

Characteristics of Blood Vessels in Female Genital Schistosomiasis: Paving the Way for Objective Diagnostics at the Point of Care.
Sigve Holmen,Sigve Holmen,Hashini Nilushika Galappaththi-Arachchige,Hashini Nilushika Galappaththi-Arachchige,Elisabeth Kleppa,Elisabeth Kleppa,Pavitra Pillay,Thajasvarie Naicker,Myra Taylor,Mathias Onsrud,Eyrun Floerecke Kjetland,Eyrun Floerecke Kjetland,Fritz Albregtsen,Fritz Albregtsen +13 more
TL;DR: The blood vessels typical of FGS have circular configurations, increased vascular density and increased local connected fractal dimensions, which could be used diagnostically based on computerised image analysis.
