Efficient Unsupervised Band Selection Through Spectral Rhythms

TL;DR: A new unsupervised band selection method based on the dissimilarity among neighboring bands by exploiting an intermediary representation called spectral rhythm is proposed, which can efficiently select suitable bands to represent the whole data by producing accuracy results as good as the baselines in the classification problem.
Journal ArticleDOI

Binarization of noisy gray-scale character images by thin line modeling

TL;DR: Two new methods for the binarization of noisy gray-scale character images obtained in an industrial setting that exploit the fact that characters are usually composed of thin lines (strokes) of uniform width are proposed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

An example-based prior model for text image super-resolution

TL;DR: In this paper, a prior model for text image super-resolution in the Bayesian framework is presented, where low-resolution images are assumed to be generated from a high-resolution image by a sort of degradation which can be grasped through example pairs of the original and the corresponding degradation.

Application of pattern recognition techniques for the analysis of thin blood smear images

TL;DR: Approaches of pattern re cognition and image processing to automatic process ing and analysis of histopathological images and an improved cell counting algorithm are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial distribution of macroalgae along the shores of Kongsfjorden (West Spitsbergen) using acoustic imaging

TL;DR: In this paper, a 2.68 km2 area comprised within a 12.40 km2 euphotic zone was mapped along the fjord coast using single-and multi-beam echosounders.
