Abstract
Moire topographic technique is widely used for three-dimensional surface reconstruction. One of the main problems is determination of the absolute order of a fringe for finding the depth difference between two points in moire patterns, i. e. convex and concave surfaces distinction. Most solutions of the problem are very complicated; also they usually require several moire images. Application of colour-encoded gratings in projection moire method allows solving the problem simply and quickly. The authors analyze the information that contains in colour moire fringes and estimate its effectiveness. With this purpose device independent simulations for colour formation of one moire fringe in colour space by different conditions were made.

Modeling and empirical investigation of white light-color sampling moiré

TL;DR: The principle of color sampling moire is derived assuming that the Bayer pattern-CCD array can be considered a combination of a bicolor red-blue grating and a green smooth plate as mentioned in this paper.

Grating projection system for surface contour measurement

TL;DR: This work describes a method that projects a phase-shifted grating through a lens on an object surface and compares the experimental results with the test results using a mechanical stylus method.

Improved fringe carrier technique for unambiguous determination of holographically recorded displacements

TL;DR: In this paper, a linear phase carrier is introduced to eliminate the ambiguity in holographic fringe interpretation, which is based on generating a high density linear phase carriers. But the technique is not suitable for holographic interferometry.

Color Encoded Moire Contouring

TL;DR: The goal is to develop a means to obtain a one time snapshot of the part under inspection that gives all of the necessary information required to produce a contour, and work directed toward using color to improve existing contouring techniques is described.

TL;DR: It is found that usually the information required for arranging the contours in the right order is small as compared with that of producing the map.
