Antioxidant abilities, key enzyme inhibitory potential and phytochemical profile of Tanacetum poteriifolium Grierson

TLDR
Tanacetum poteriifolium Grierson, a poorly studied medicinal plant, has been evaluated using standard in vitro assays as discussed by the authors, where the enzyme inhibitory and antioxidant properties of the ethyl acetate, methanol, and water extracts were assessed.

HPLC-PDA Polyphenolic Quantification, UHPLC-MS Secondary Metabolite Composition, and In Vitro Enzyme Inhibition Potential of Bougainvillea glabra.

TL;DR: B. glabra could be regarded as a perspective starting material for designing novel pharmaceuticals based on its phytochemical composition and enzyme inhibition potential against key enzymes involved in diabetes, skin problems, and inflammatory disorders.

HPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS/MS phenolic profiles and biological activities of extracts from roxburgh rose (Rosa roxburghii Tratt.) leaves

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study was performed for the first time on high-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole orbitrap tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS/MS) phenolic profiles, antioxidant, α-glucosidase inhibitory (α-GIA) and anti-bacterial activities of the RRLs extracts extracted by traditional and eco-friendly solvents.

Natural Products as Sources of New Drugs from 1981 to 2014

TL;DR: This contribution is a completely updated and expanded version of the four prior analogous reviews that were published in this journal in 1997, 2003, 2007, and 2012, and the time frame has been extended to cover the 34 years from January 1, 1981, to December 31, 2014, for all diseases worldwide, and from 1950 (earliest so far identified) to December 2014 for all approved antitumor drugs worldwide.

Identification of the phenolic components of chrysanthemum flower (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat)

TL;DR: In this paper, a standardised profiling method based on liquid chromatography with diode array and electrospray ionisation/mass spectrometry (LC-DAD-ESI/MS) was used to identify 46 flavonoids and 17 caffeic acid derivatives in the aqueous methanol extract of Flos chrysanthemum (C. morifolium Ramat) (Compositae), an important Chinese herb.

α-Glucosidase inhibition by flavonoids: an in vitro and in silico structure-activity relationship study.

TL;DR: The present work suggests that several of the studied flavonoids have the potential to be used as alternatives for the regulation of PPHG, with a flavonoid with two catechol groups in A- and B-rings being the most active.

Correlations between phenolic content and antioxidant properties in twenty-four plant species of traditional ethnoveterinary use in the Mediterranean area.

TL;DR: Findings suggest that phenolic content could be used as an indicator of antioxidant properties, and encourage investigations on Mediterranean plant species as sources of antioxidants.
