TLDR
The analytical model of the trailing-edge noise of an airfoil derived in the first part of this study is assessed by first comparing the predictions with alternative analytical and numerical computations found in the literature as mentioned in this paper.About:

Wall-Pressure Spectral Model Including the Adverse Pressure Gradient Effects
TL;DR: In this article, a review of boundary-layer parameters characterizing the pressure gradient effects is provided, and the more relevant ones are introduced as new variables in the model and compared to the zero pressure gradient model it is derived from.

Extensions and limitations of analytical airfoil broadband noise models
Michel Roger,Stéphane Moreau +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a state-of-the-art analytical model to predict the broadband noise generated by thin airfoils in a flow, either clean or disturbed, by impingement of upstream turbulence, scattering of boundary-layer turbulence as sound at the trailing edge for an attached flow called trailing-edge noise, and the noise generated due to the formation of a coherent vortex shedding in the near wake of a thick trailing edge, called vortex-shedding noise.

Noise reduction mechanisms of sawtooth and combed-sawtooth trailing-edge serrations
TL;DR: In this article, a combed-saw-tooth serration was used to mitigate turbulent boundary-layer trailing-edge noise in wind-turbine blades, and it was found that the presence of combs significantly reduced the intensity of scattered noise but not the frequency range of noise reduction.

Convective effects and the role of quadrupole sources for aerofoil aeroacoustics
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of mean flow and quadrupole sources on the broadband noise arising from the interaction of turbulent boundary layers with the aerofoil trailing edge and the tonal noise that arises from vortex shedding generated by laminar boundary layers and trailing-edge bluntness were investigated.
ACOUSTICS2008/3539 LES prediction of wall-pressure fluctuations and noise of a low-speed airfoil
TL;DR: In this paper, the wall-pressure fluctuations and noise of a low-speed airfoil are computed using large-eddy simulation (LES) and compared with experimental measurements made in an open-jet anechoic wind-tunnel at Ecole Centrale de Lyon.

Aerodynamic sound generation by turbulent flow in the vicinity of a scattering half plane
J. E. Ffowcs Williams,L. H. Hall +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the presence of the edge of a half plane in a turbulent fluid results in a large increase in the noise generated by that fluid at low Mach numbers, and the farfield sound has the same features as would be predicted by geometrical acoustics.

Acoustic radiation from an airfoil in a turbulent stream
TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical expression for the far-field acoustic power spectral density produced by an airfoil in a subsonic turbulent stream is given in terms of quantities characteristics of the turbulence.

Noise due to turbulent flow past a trailing edge
TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical method for calculating far field noise from an airfoil in an incident turbulent flow is extended to apply to the case of noise produced by turbulent flow past a trailing edge, and some minor points of the theory in reference are clarified.
