TLDR
In this paper, a slightly doped spin gap state in double-chain system was studied in terms of Abelian bosonization method and it was shown that the spin gap formation in terms with the interchain exchange coupling J ⊥ persists only when the two chains are doped with equal number of carriers.

Response functions of two-coupled chains of Tomonaga-Luttinger liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, the repulsive intrachain interaction results in the clear enhancement of Im χ σ R ( q x, π ; ω ) and the suppression of Im ε ρ R( q x, π, ω) at low energies, which has a possibility to give rise to the attractive interaction for the electron pairing.

The resonating valence bond state in La2CuO4 and superconductivity

TL;DR: The oxide superconductors, particularly those recently discovered that are based on La2CuO4, have a set of peculiarities that suggest a common, unique mechanism: they tend in every case to occur near a metal-insulator transition into an odd-electron insulator with peculiar magnetic properties.

Nonlinear Field Theory of Large-Spin Heisenberg Antiferromagnets: Semiclassically Quantized Solitons of the One-Dimensional Easy-Axis Néel State

TL;DR: In this article, the O(3) nonlinear sigma model of the large-spin one-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet was shown to be the optimal model for weak easy-axis anisotropy.

Superconductivity, Spin Gaps and Luttinger Liquids in a Class of Cuprates

TL;DR: A homologous series of cuprates, Srn -1 Cun + 1 O2n, formed by introducing a parallel array of planar defects into the infinite-layer cuprate, SrCuO2, have been reported by Takano et al. as discussed by the authors.

Correlations in a Two-Chain Hubbard Model

TL;DR: Equal time spin--spin and pair field correlation functions are calculated for a two-chain Hubbard model using a density-matrix numerical renormalization group approach and the pair field correlations appear to follow a power law decay which is similar to their non-interacting U=0 behavior.

Role of transverse hopping in a two-coupled-chains model.

TL;DR: It is shown that, independent of the presence of spin, [ital t][sub [perpendicular]] strongly modifies the asymptotic long-wavelength behavior of the two chains, opening gaps in the excitation spectra.
