TLDR
In this article, exact solutions for static black holes localized on a three-brane in five-dimensional gravity in the Randall-Sundrum scenario were considered. But the results in this paper are restricted to the case where only one horizon is admitted, outside the Schwarzschild horizon.

Brane-World Gravity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the geometry, dynamics and perturbations of simple brane-world models for cosmology and astrophysics, mainly focusing on warped 5-dimensional braneworlds based on the Randall-Sundrum models.

Black Holes in Theories with Large Extra Dimensions: a Review

TL;DR: In this article, a master equation for the propagation of fields with arbitrary spin in the induced-on-the-brane black hole background was derived, and all existing results in the literature for the emission of scalars, fermions and gauge bosons during the spin-down and Schwarzschild phases of the life of the black hole were reviewed.

Hunting for extra dimensions in the shadow of M87

TL;DR: The Event Horizon Telescope has recently provided the first image of the dark shadow around the supermassive black hole M87* as discussed by the authors, which provides strong limits on the amount of light that can be seen from the Event Horizon observations.

Large Mass Hierarchy from a Small Extra Dimension

TL;DR: In this paper, the weak scale is generated from the Planck scale through an exponential hierarchy, but this exponential arises not from gauge interactions but from the background metric, which is a slice of spacetime.

The Mathematical Theory of Black Holes

TL;DR: In a course of lectures on the underlying mathematical structures of classical gravitation theory given in 1978, Brandon Carter as discussed by the authors began with the statement ‘If I had been asked five years ago to prepare a course for recent developments in classical gravity theory, I would not have hesitated on the classical theory of black holes as a central topic of discussion. But I am grateful to them for their courtesy in assigning to me this privilege.

Brane cosmological evolution in a bulk with cosmological constant

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the cosmology of a 3-brane universe with a cosmological constant and showed that the Friedmann equation admits a first integral, analogous to the first Friedmann equations, which governs the evolution of the metric in the brane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Brane world black holes

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that a non-rotating uncharged black hole on the domain wall is described by a ''black cigar'' solution in five dimensions, where the universe is viewed as a domain wall in five dimensional anti-de Sitter space.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exact description of black holes on branes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors construct exact solutions describing black holes on two-branes in four dimensions and find that 2+1 gravity is recovered at large distances along the brane, although there are significant deviations at smaller scales.
