Approximation to the dynamics of transported parts in a vibratory bowl feeder

TL;DR: In this paper, an approximate model for predicting the behaviour of a part in a vibratory bowl following a modification of parameters in any of the above three groups is presented in the form of a dynamic simulation using specific software.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elastodynamic analysis of vibratory bowl feeders: Modeling and experimental validation

TL;DR: In this article, a linear lumped-parameter model for the prediction of the dynamic behavior of bowl feeders is presented, which can be used for the analysis of feeder dynamics and for evaluating the effects of changes in design and operational parameters in terms of bowl and base vibration and dynamic forces transmitted to the floor.

Dynamical analysis of vibratory feeder and feeding parts considering interactions by an improved increment harmonic balance method

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the vibration in a vibratory feeder as repeated discontinuous friction that can be considered as a typica... and describe the characteristics of the vibration.

A numerical 2D simulation of part motion in vibratory bowl feeders by discrete element method

TL;DR: In this article, a 2D numerical model based on discrete element method has been developed to perform a more accurate investigation on the dynamic behavior of a feeding part, which is assumed that the feeding part was not a point mass, instead, a rectangular shape that can rotate and have three degrees of freedom.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design of a modular feeder for optimal operating performance

TL;DR: In this article, a new modular feeding system was developed at the iWB and a method to ensure an optimal operating performance of the new feeder at single or double line frequency was presented.

The dynamics of repeated impacts with a sinusoidally vibrating table

TL;DR: In this paper, a deceptively simple difference equation is derived which approximately describes the motion of a small ball bouncing vertically on a massive sinusoidally vibrating plate, and the equation reduces to the standard mapping which has been extensively studied by physicists in connection with the motions of particles constrained in potential wells.

Chaotic dynamics of a bouncing ball

TL;DR: In this article, an undergraduate experiment is described that illustrates the period doubling route to chaos in a simple dissipative mechanical system, a bouncing ball subject to repeated impacts with a vibrating table.
